Need advise

not to be rude to you, cause we all have made mistakes. But to look at these things as minor is not the way you as a driver should look at it. the accident that involved the trailer was petty I will give you that, The backing is the worst one in a companies eyes. Anytime you make contact with something just think of it as something serious, We had a driver take out a pole and he said it wasn't a big deal, then the boss said what if they was a child by that pole and the driver freaked. Consider yourself lucky they were so minor, but in the future pay a little more attention.. We all learn from mistakes.

 

You need to realize when it comes to accidents nothing is minor in this industry.Only time companies know who you are is when something bad happens no matter how big or small it is.

 

sorry for your troubles I had couple incidents 2 when I started. have you tried when u fill out applications when they asked if they can contact present employer try checking no. get a copy of your dac at www.hireright.com this is free 1 a year or if you get turned down for job to actually see what's on there it normally com in couple weeks. for seeing what some employers see when hiring you its a pre-employment screening it cost $10 well spent www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov u can pick option see instant. go there see what accident that is actually on your report tell them about them on application but inform them of the ones that is not. then u can go to sites like www.bubbajunk.com and www.highestpayingdriverjobs.com are sites you can put in generic application. and interested companies will call u. but on your csa those incidents will be off in 3 years. have you tried local companies, construction companies, farmers, or being a spotter truck. when looking try focusing on really smaller companies 300-500trks they tend to be more forgiving than the larger carriers. hope that helps you some GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

 

37,000 miles is pretty good for a new driver with a mega carrier in three months. I would suggest slowing down just a tad and get the other three months at any cost. Most places need a minimum of six months. (for a somewhat good job) I have well over twenty years driving, but due to a lengthy gap in my career, your chances will be much better, even with the 4 preventable incidents. Get that other three months with any bottom feeder that will hire you B/4 that gap is too far apart to recover from. Good Luck !

 

do you have email address ask company to email it to u. actually this forum has some post about small companies looking for drivers. go in google type in small or family owned companies. don't know what state u stay in most states have the job search online thru unemployment office majority of time u can access it from home without going into office. smaller companies post things on there. have u tried talking to companies like Sysco where u hand unload trailer. try saii, roadway, estes, old dominion, etc. I don't know if you have endorsements if u don't please invest in yourself. it will open doors 4 you. I heard of company like stericycle they pick up stuff that is marked contaminated from hospitals (like red box needles) . look for those companies that deliver gas to local gas station. u may have to go local for a while look at warehouse delivery driver, spotter truck, construction, farms driving hopper bottoms there are companies that pull hopper bottoms year around picking up grain at ports. companies like greatwide have o/o look for drivers. do u stay close to any train yards. there are companies in their areas that have o/o looking for drivers. try www.indeed.com, www.craiglist.com see what local jobs in area where u live you are gonna really work at it. time to brainstorm JUST REMEMBER THEY ONLY CAN TELL U 2 ANSWERS YES OR NO don't get discouraged it will happen for u its gonna take time. these are just some ideas for u
