Anyone who has an idea that they would like to share with Garmin post it here. http://www8.garmin.com/contactUs/ideas/ I would like to see truck stop and exit POI's. I would also like to have which POI's I want and don't want. I sent them a list of things I would like to see on an update.

You can add and make your own poi with alerts. I get all my poi from poi factory just Google the Web sight. After I find the poi I want I dl to my pc and use garmins poi loader to update my device. Another reason why I like garmin over other brands http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles

I just got a DEZL 560 and am updating it now.

I'm thinking that the only difference for me between the 760 and the 560 will be size as I will not be using most of the other features, like logging and fuel/IFTA, etc.

This thing has been downloading updates for well over an hour now. I have Roadrunner high speed internet hare at my house, so bandwidth shouldn't be a problem. Is this normal for a first update?

Called tech support and got some help on the download hanging issue. Had to email the contents of one file, update some info and then restart the process. It only toke about 20 minutes after that.

The map updates are typically several gigs, so it can certainly take a while.

I've been using the 760 for a while now and love it. The ifta logging is especially handy when filling out trip envelopes!

I run the Garmin 760 and my old Rand 510 together to see which one is better. The Garmin is faster at routing and more accurate. The Rand finds all the truck stops. If they ever combine the two we would have a real trucker GPS. Call it the Total Trucker.

I have a couple of truck stop apps on my phone. However, I have to be stopped to use them. Nice thing though is that I can call them to make sure they are still available and not down for remodeling or closed for business. Then I can enter the address in the GPS.
