I can't stand a ####y know it all tech who in all honesty is barely qualified to have change oil. Don't have the techs interacting with the paying customer.

I don't want to feel like I'm kept at arm's length. I like to see what's going on and up close. The closer the better. A good mechanic can point out a bunch of things I would otherwise miss. On the other hand, tell me I need belts and I know my belts are good, I won't be back. Don't cut corners without my approval. I hate catching a tire guy trying to leave the old valve stem when I get a new recap or not torquing the lugs.

I like to see what is happening as well, I might learn something that might help be safe down the road.
