Schneider doesn't have their own driving school anymore, so they have to take drivers from other schools. Check out the other threads in here by me and dieselfuelonly. All your questions will be answered.

No Passport needed, although you may get one at any time. I have been OTR w/ Schneider for seven months now and I like it. I generally stay out two weeks and come home for a week-end. It was though at first, my first truck was wore-out junk. And my paycheck was only about $400 a week. Learning how to haul fright safely and efficently is a school of hard knocks, I was always late. But perseverance paid off for me, I now ride in a new Cascaida, and bring home abt $600 per week after they dedcuct $100 for family health insurance.

Schneider started me at .28 a mile when i started 14 months ago doing western 11 regional. If you do the math, 2000 - 2800 miles a week, you get $560 - $784 before deductions and taxes. I now make .34 a mile and run 48 states. Certainly not get rich money. But a good company to start with.

I think I get 1800 to 2000 per week, but I don't keep close track of it. Beare in mind that I have family insurance and some extra bennies. Yeah, Schneider's pay is a bit on the low side, but I have a stay-at-home wife w/ childern so good benifits is very inportant to me. Schneider's benny package is pretty good and the deductions are a fair price in today's market of skyrocketing health care insurance.

Well makes sense, I know starting out you always get stock with the low pay but it gets better with time. I'm taking my hazmat today with hope that I can get into schneider tanker division.
