I like Canada, in fact I'm in Kamloops, BC now, been in Canada for about two weeks and crossing out at Blaine on Monday. A lot of the drivers at COCC think your crazy to want to go to Canada.

That is some good miles for the Quads. You'll find that because your heading out on Sundays, that's making a positive difference. The Drivers that leave out Mondays and get home Friday nights, like I did, have a hard time getting much over 10K miles/mo. I was only running 9500-10000 each month and still hit their average pay target. You keep that up you'll have a good year.

Funny thing is that I did leave on Mondays the first two weeks and that's what I ended up with. That's what I plan on doing, leave Monday one week and then Sunday the following week. It appears that this plan will work out well as far as pay to home time balance goes.

Finally back stateside. Left Sunday morning and drove through snow Sunday night and Monday through Alberta. Man that's not fun with 4k on the deck. Got the first drop off in Edmonton Monday afternoon and drove up to Fort McMurray and spent the night at the worksite. 2 degrees when I got up there, tarps and straps were a real treat to deal with first thing in the morning. Eventually got the tarp somewhat rolled up and made my way over to Meadow Lake where they were on schedule. Got in and out of there within a couple of hours only to drive on snow packed roads until Battleford, SK. It got down to -8℉ and was in the negatives all night Tuesday with some close to zero visibility freezing fog at times, made for a long night. I'm headed to Riddle, OR for a Friday morning delivery and then I'll head down to White City and pick up my next load going back up to Edmonton. No shortage of Canada here. And now that I'll actually have some weight on the deck, it'll be all sunshine and unicorns when I go through there next week.

This week's check will look something like this: 3044 miles, 1 full tarp and a smoke tarp and 1 Canada crossing. COTC, as a whole, set a company record for miles driven in a month so it looks like things haven't started to slow down. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Looks like your going to get a load of siding out of White City. If so that's a nice easy tarp.

Not this time, both times I've come down here I've picked up 60' wood beams. I've already got my permit for BC, now just waiting to finish up my load.

I was put in a loaner last night because unknown to me, my truck is almost 2000 miles past an oil change and the bad sensor that keeps throwing the check engine light is possibly part of a short. Hopefully I get her back soon, but this trip to Edmonton will be in the loaner. Ugh. I want my truck back.

I hauled a lot of beams out of Red Bluff, CA into Canada on the semi side, lots of straps and lots of overhang, no tarp though. I didn't need a permit, was never that long. Always needed a permit to haul steel into Canada.

I ran for them. If you like being in the mountains and picking up lumber in isolated logging towns, it is a fun job.

Well finally have interwebs again. Delivered in Edmonton on Tuesday morning and then made it over to Meadow Lake for my pickup late Tuesday night. They were slow again and this time I didn't get loaded until about 0900 local, putting me behind the 8 ball for the rest of the week. Delivered in Hayden, ID around 1300 and was out of there by 1415. Headed east to Paradise, MT to pick up a load of stones in the dark. Had to drive up a hill to a gravel pit in the dark, which was interesting to say the least. Just another day in Paradise (see what I did there).

Now I'm spending the night in Spokane and will deliver in Bend, OR tomorrow afternoon and then will switch back into my truck. Finally. From there I'll head home and pick up Monday morning.

Still rolling, this week's check will have 3406 miles, 1 tarp, and 1 Canada crossing.

I've picked up rock in Paradise, MT before. I was at Pape Kenworth yesterday and there was a quad sitting out in front, not sure if it was or if they where done with it, hopefully you'll get your truck back soon.
