I know, and I appreciate the advice you guys are giving me. It just doesn't make any sense to me why MO would care about something that didnt occur in the state and doesn't effect their revenue in any way.

What did you have to do when the one from 15 years ago came back on you?

It took me 4 days, multiple (30+) phones calls, faxes, emails to get two things cleared in NY. Had a ticket in SC in 1997 when I had a New York DL and Indiana wouldn't let me change my birthdate which was wrong on CDL...this was about three weeks ago. Had an insurance lapse as well in 1997. This National Driver Register thing is fairly new...believe I went many years from state to state not caring about what I did in the last state.

Mo cares because Mo wants its money if a driver from NY doesn't pay a Mo ticket, just the same as you not paying a NY ticket and you being from Mo. They are helping each other collect money from drivers that got a ticket in a state they may never go back to again.

I got a ticket in the early 80's in podunk Fla. Light turned yellow after I had entered intersection, and cop said red before I was out. Must have been a 1 second yellow I guess. Anyway I was young and ticked, and decided not to pay it as this was out in the sticks, and didn't plan on going back anytime soon.

A few weeks later I check the mail, Fla had contacted NC, and my license was set to be revoked in three days. Try getting that taken care of back then before fax machines and home computers. It cost me a lot in phone calls, Western Union fees, and begging with Fla to call NC and tell them I had paid because a letter from them would not have made it in time for me to not be suspended. To Fla's credit, they called NC. I know because I called NC several times until they confirmed Fla called. You would be suprised how much long distance phone calls were then too, way before nationwide free minutes. There were only billed by the minute, high price per minute calls and 1-800 numbers only.

You're letting stress and inconvenience lead you into making irrational decisions. Keep trying and get with them before you make a bad decision. Yes, you will have to pay a nice fine now, or a much bigger one later. And you WILL end up paying it. You can't skip on tickets they way you could years ago. I skipped plenty, which is why I was suprised that a small town in Fla was able to do like they did.

I found it better to slow down, be more careful, and not get any tickets since the 80's.

A little thing called reciprocity. What this will amount to is NY honoring another's jurisdictions tickets if you honor ours. That will extend to Canada in most cases as well. So, if you get a speeding ticket in Ontario, that would show on your MO license. If you didn't pay the ticket then it would be the same as if you had the ticket in MO. The includes any moving violations as well, so simply avoiding the issuing state will not prevent them from holding your CDL for ransom.

Still can't get ahold of anyone. Theres no fax number on the ticket. Should I be assuming that my license has been suspended?

You won't know until you call. Get on the computer tomorrow and look up every number connected with the court until you get hold of someone that can point you where to call.

Good grief man it's like you are a helpless teenager. We've told you what to do. Do it.

It took me less than 5 seconds to google "Lafargeville Court", which is the name of the court I had to deal with. The search returned a telephone number, address, hours of operation, Judges name, E-MAIL AND FAX NUMBER.

I am starting to think that you would rather tell us your tales of woe than actually solve your problem. I don't think anyone help you anymore than we already have. Now it's up to you. Sheesh.

Im sorry, Im really not trying to a jerk. This just has me REALLY stressed out, my CDL is all I have. If I lose it Im back to being homeless. I did some searching this morning and managed to dig up a fax number...sent them a letter explaining what happened and put my number at the bottom asking them to please call me...hopefully they do.

Again I do appreciate the help, and if I was coming across as a jerk I apologize, that wasnt my intention.

Have you searched the court records in the county you received the ticket to see what it says yet?
