    What does DEF stand for? I've tried goggling it and no luck

    If your DPF and SCR equipped truck runs out of DEF you will be SOL.

    Gee, I always thought it stood for "Diesel Engine #########".

    Yeah, you never want your DEF to run out. "Derates" the engine. DEF basically is the fuel used to burn very hot to clean the exhaust filter. Every now and then the engine should do that in order to keep the filter clean. So far I'm not particularly impressed with modern engines, but hopefully they'll find a work around this problem.

    They go through that stupid regen process from time to time if you idle to much to burn that filter out too.

    Yeah, they convert dairy farms to collect from the cattle.


    Looks like there is another market for bull milk also.
