I laugh at the fools heading into El Paso from the west as I get off to take the Anthony Gap backroad.
La traffic and the delusion of doing 62mph.

I think a lot of truckers think the 3rd lane on roads like that are a lot safer than the 2 righthand lanes; there is so much traffic merging, and then the 2nd right lane has folks weaving in and out usually. And anticipating the road going to the left and deciding that you need to be over there all ready just because of the heavy traffic. It is too bad that they wouldn't make the lane he was in legal for truckers if there are 4 lanes, but that would be too easy.

As you can see in the video with the truck that passed me, not only was the following distance from the car in front of him unsafe , not to mention risking the lane violation , I still passed him at the first hit of traffic.
Its the scenario of the hair and turtle, where the turtle wins every time. That's the patients I was trying to emphasize.Last edited: Nov 12, 2013

I don't see the big deal about LA traffic, of course I grew up in it.

Nice moves, i ve contemplated that in my land cruiser before but it will be a while before i do it. The one time i try it the traffic pattern is going to be different than i though and it will backfire but it will be interesting anyway. Im new to LA and the roads are interesting. It seems like wherever there is a hill or cars merging or both there is traffic issue. Its easy to see the problems with the way the highway system works but its a little harder to see a solution. The lanes on the left are supposed to be the fast ones and sometimes they are but then when your exit is coming you usually have to merge all the way across the freeway. That BS fastrack or whatever its called is such a joke, all the emissions they make you go through just to still be sitting at a standstill on the road while there are two or three lanes on the left open hardly being used at all. Its all about the money California doesn't really care about the environment. Whats even more ridiculous is that the people of California dont really know any better and just accept things, heck they even support many of these roudabout ways of being taxed. Ok ok i better stop now im about to go into a serious rant.

That just seems more in vane than anything you said right now.
To be honest I've never been a big fan of Land Cruisers and that box look they have.
If you ever whant to see some real road tax go to the East Coast where you haft to pay through and through to get from point A to point B. What is it about $50 Dollars to go over the Washington Bridge.Last edited: Nov 13, 2013

I don't spend very much time here i live in a place where i can drive whatever i want. Actually my land cruiser is retrofitted with a diesel gets about 30 or more to the gallon. Its an fj62 pretty sweet ride. I cant even get a shop in cali to touch it but i know for a fact im better on mileage than at least half the cars on the california highway. Im actually a student so no im not a truck driver yet but i'll keep you informed. i do have my 100 ton masters though which is way more awesome to be operating than any Truck so get off your high horse. You know as well as i do California has a lot of ridiculous rules and regualtions. Are you CARB compliant yet??? i hope so. Im not trying to bash it at all but there are some things that aren't right anyone can see that. Seriously full speed you haven't been at a standstill and looked over at those fastrac lanes not even being used and thought that maybe that was a little ridiculous? -
I've been hearing that allot about, oh I've done this with heavy equipment for years and I've seen lots of guys who been class A drivers that just don't even get aspects that attribute to the job.
Ok some of these guys have been operating equipment for years but they never been a Class A driver/ Witch means being regulated in every aspect while out on the road. Maybe that's why they don't get it. I got a million miles 11 years experience< never had a scale ticket. No tickets or accident with in the last 6 years.
Class A drivers are under the close scrutiny of the eye of the government at all time, as well as your employers . You got to be able to plan accordingly and at the same time make it look legal. Gotta keep your record clean free of accidents and tickets as well. Something they're not required to do out in a farm or on a construction site.
That would really be comparing apples to oranges.Last edited: Nov 13, 2013

That type of traffic, I keep a lot of extra distance just to check out high skirts and nice legs. And of course safety !!!
