Not if you take command of the questioning. Check out my post 10/11/13, under the Questions from New Drivers; topic- "Why you MUST question the Company Recruiter prior to submitting your job application"! Most recruiters are willing to let you question them, others will stop you and take command of the questioning; if you allow this, then you will subject yourself to being lied to, warmed up and having your fuzzy feeling of bliss as they verbally stroke your brain. Take Care... and aim high!

Aimhigh its cool. I get differences. You said in another post to ask drivers of particular company here. When I want to know what company to work for last thing Im going to do is ask here. 1) so many drivers whining. None of them will give you the truth. They will complain about something. Plus I could for the fun of it claim I work for HO Wolding and make stuff up. I dont and havent made things up but no way to clairify what company you are associated with on here. You want real answers from real drivers ask around at truck stops or rest areas. Ask five drivers. That is shat I did. Worked out well. 2) See 1.
Thumper Thanks this. -
should ask them will you lie to me? lol my idea is that if they have a recruiter they prolly have a high turnover rate to begain with. Which raises questions to me. If anyone is from northwest ohio get ahold of me I have some great leads on good employers.

Recently attended May Trucking company orientation. Lady mentioned they don't so slip seating. So your truck remains is not given to another driver when you're on home time. Nice not to have to remove all your stuff every few weeks. Might be a good question for other companies as well.
Although, that did sound like a perk only the good companies offer. -
Your not reading the right posts. I cant even count the number of helpful drivers here, especially the vets. I have narrowed my search by coming here and gotten answers to EVERY question I have had. Lots of whiners but the positive here far outweighs the negative. Besides, most of the negative here is coming from newbies who didnt do their homework before jumping in. Straight talk is not necessarily a negative if it helps you make the right choice. Listen to the vets, if you have a lousy work history or other issues you will have trouble in any industry. find the right threads and you will find answers.aimhigh Thanks this.

Im reading them right and I am right there are a lot of whiners on here. You are right most are newbies but there are veteran truckers telling newbies to run in the other direction and not to work in this industry. How does that help me?
-
I dont mean reading them correctly, I mean look for other posts to read. Not everybody has had a good experience so you have to take it with a grain of salt. The positive, really useful info is right here. Even the angry guys have something to teach. One of the things that usually comes with age is knowing that whatever you do is pretty much what you make of it unless you just made a bad choice and didnt do enough research. I have found the site a great place to learn about the industry as well as specific companies. Just me...

Good work there, Aimhigh!
Buckeye Cowboy, I made my decision to come to where I'm at based on the fact that very little was said about them here, in the good or bad forum. Now with that said, our company website is very vague and money of the answers to these questions are not answered there. And like any company the recruiters are paid to get you there so about the only info they volunteer is good home time and your rate of pay. Had I thought to ask some of these questions and got answers I MIGHT have chose another company. It wasn't until recently I found out we don't get detention pay. So BC as you get a little experience and leave Crete (as I'm sure you will) and you are looking for a small carrier with very little info on website(if they even have one at all) you wouldn't ask these questions?aimhigh Thanks this.
