ULSD Fuel

    Ive noticed locally here FJ is only selling ULSD fuel will that help with soot in the oil? And what are the good or bad points of ULSD fuel?

    I think that ULSD has a tendency to wax at a higher temp. But that is all I know about ULSD and only from experience. Nothing like climbing a mountain and sudenly loosing half of your power untill you get to a lower, warmer place. Anti gel helps but I try to not use it do to the extra expence, guess its time to pack some in the sidebox.

    Howes is very cheap insurance against the cost of road service if you do gel up.

    I buy it by the case so get a much lower price than the inconvenience stores at the truck stop. Plus I get a few tenths better MPG.

    For me as O/operator ULSD is not good,cause engine burning more ULSD than regular diesel to make same job:biggrin_25518:
