Exactly. That's what had me scratching my head in posts 14, 15 and 17.

I never understood the OP to say she slid the 5th wheel. There is a 1480 lb difference on the steers between weight 1 and weight 2. I don't know about you guys but I can't get that much of a difference by sliding my 5th wheel.

From looking at weights 1 and 2, I *assumed* they moved pallets forward to the nose of the trailer....exact opposite of what should have been done.

I can transfer far more than 1500 lbs between my steer and drives. I get about 450 lbs with each notch (depending on weight on drives, loaded).
So if I move 5 notches, that's roughly 2250 lbs off of one and transferred to the other.

I guess we're all assuming that last number by the OP is the rear tandems. (29,200 vs 29,100).
And the OP claimed the fifth wheel wasn't moved. Now I'm wondering if she listed the weights out of order, and the 29,xxx lbs was actually the weight on the drives! lol

I could be wrong but it looks as the load will haft to go back. Moving the fifth wheel isn't gone move any weight to the rear axles. Regardless if the tandems were slid or if its do to improper loading.

The weights were off from the beginning and just got worse. Could be the OP but she stated rears were all the way up, and the fifth wheel had already been moved all the way forward and back.

But like I said it could be the OP. I cant say from behind a computer screen its hard to tell. I've seen some people get so lost in these situations and allot of times its that they cant comprehend the genomics of whats going on.

Go down a couple of threads to scale help and see who was the last one to post on that thread. A few were wavering back in forth hours on in on how to fix the problem yet it was so simple. I went in late in the thread and ended it ok that's what makes the difference between a real knowledge of a veteran class A driver.

Yep, I used to regularly load manhole covers that put my gross between 79k & 79,800. These guys were sharp, we hauled 5 loads a day for years, every load was legal axle weight and it was loaded evenly thru the trailer. That was a dream shipper, everyone was very nice there, they preloaded trailiers for us and if you did have to live load they loaded 24/7/365. #### JB Hunt undercut our rate and stole them from us but naturally JB screwed up loads by being late. I think they kept the account 8 months and we got it back. Our performance rate was 99.8% and those late load were weather related and neither the shipper or receiver had a problem with us shutting down for weather, within reason.
About trailers being live loaded and overweight, drivers should go on the dock if allowed and watch them load the trailier, if something doesnt look right say something to the loader. You cant be timid in trucking sometimes you have to speak up & stand your ground.

When money is needed to pay the rent, its a last option, but not always the best or safe way around.

I've been told by experienced drivers that most scale houses won't mess with you if you're a hundred or two over on an axle as long as you're under 80K. And like someone else said, you'll burn it off in fuel soon anyway.

Depends on state. TN and MS wont play. My dad called me one day because he got an overweight ticket. How much was he over? 40lbs on the trailer and his gross was 78k. That ticket was a whopping $248 to him and $50 to the company. He had to pay both. Since that happened to him, I won't hit a scale if I'm even 10lbs over on any axle.

It depends on the state and the time of year. I know that Utah allows a percentage over in the winter for snow/ice build up (I called a scale and asked). California, OTOH, doesn't (not a surprise).
