CB for car

no, they get run out of there real quick.

I have 100 ham guys who would buy my radio tomarrow. They know how god a radio the grant was. It's a shame uniden got out of the side band business.

The galaxy is alright, I'v had good luck with some and I'v had some that sucked and never could get right. Great thing about the uniden is it always works right, it's hard to mess one up. Unfortunatly when I was putting it in my truck a few weeks ago I droped it and now the meter is broken.

 

Man,that sucks.Is the meter all it screwed up or do you know yet?...Do you do your own radio work or do you know a good shop you use?There used to be a good shop about 20 minutes north of here just off I-57 but I heard the other day that the old fella that ran it passed away so we're kinda s.o.l. for a local shop for now.As far as running the company sucks off on that other site,I'll bet you're right.Some of these bots on this site need to go the way of the buffalo too.A lot of them on here seem to be here for two reasons...talk about how wonderful Bush is or how wonderful working for the big companies is.I think their paid advertisers.Nobody could really be that stupid without drowning in the rain.

 

My radio shop is in Madison WI. they are the only one I let touch my radio after having too many of the destroyed by hacks.
I think it still works but I havn't been able to get any radio check on it so I hope I didn't fry the final. I'm not too near anywthing though and it's running barefoot so that's not a surprise

 

Good cb repair shops are getting pretty rare....most newbies buy a low end radio and suffer with it instead of stopping in a reputable shop and buying something decent for about the same money.I always looked at my radio as a VERY important tool and I hate trying to talk on a junk one.

 

Hey, sounds like some of you know 10 meter radioinfo.... do they normally have side band? for cb channels? and can you use the extra power on the side band cb channels stock?

 

some amps don't work on side band because of how it works. When on cb channels you key up and you have a constant carrier wave. With side band you carrier fluxtuates with your voice so most amps will click on and off constantly as you talk because it thinks you are not keyed up.
That texas star I sold you has a button that locks the amp on for use on side band so it will work on the side bands

 

i know but im asking about the 10m radios specifically.... does the extra power on that work with side band,... and do 10m have side band... im talking about general and president radios...

 

I don't mess with ten meter. I have em, just don't use them so i'll let omeone else answer. If you wana get that into it just go get your ham ticket. I have the books around here somewhere. not too hard.

 

im not looking to use anything but CB channels... i dont wanna touch any of the 10m bands stuff.... im curious about the 10m radios, because they ... should be aligned not to bleed even with the power cranked up, ... thats weather or not the power works on cb bands....
