I'm going to take a guess here, but I dont think trucks or trailers were as tall as they are now back when that bridge was likely built.

In any case , thats no excuse for not paying attention to all signs.

 

I Agree it isn't. And squandered money can't fix it so the locals better have a backup route to work so they won't be late next time it happens. It will happen again.
