This week the van I'm driving has grossed around and this is just a rough ball park figure $2600. I will get 40% of the line haul but my own gets all the fuel surcharge. Some things kinda blow is if you tall there a good chance your going to be longer than the van is wide so you lay crooked in the van. Slow weeks can be über slow to where you make no money at all and sit in the van or truck stop and wait. That being said those are really the major downers the upside is that I don't have to do weight stations, rarely do vans get DOT inspection(mine has all of its authorities on both side in bright red), no hour restrictions which can be a double edged sword, uses way less fuel so if your in a town waiting on a load you can cruise around and check out the sights and you just pay for the fuel, breeze to park, I assume easy to drive especially in tight spots. Some owners are a lot less strict about how you stay out considering where you live, if its a good freight area like Ohio Indiana Michigan Illinois you may get to be home every weekend or every other you just have to stay in service and leave when the call comes

My cut of that $2600 which is a 7 day pay period is gonna be around $1,100-$1,300. Week before I only made $360 tho so you just gotta survive the bad weeks which come and go

The $1,100-$1,300 is after fuel to me. I drive for a owner that's a cool dude he lets me go home whenever I want just as long as I pay for fuel lol. The owner leases with a company names Tri State Expedited Services. I'm not really doing this for the money because in a cargo van I can make just as much money in certain ways because I wouldn't have so high of fuel bills and repairs are so much cheaper compared to a TT. Big the truck bigger the costs BUT you do get a nicer place to be while driving and OTR in a sprinter doesn't really translate into anything local beside maybe FedEx ground.

ha! i know that place. my dad told me look into it before trucking. but i passed on it. good stuff though man. i think they have cargo van at that place itself too like you said right? or is the cargo van somewhere else? but ya i see what your saying you get to see stuff. i feel like its more relaxing/less stressful though because your not in a huge truck with a trailer.

One reason I wanted to drive for central is because they're reffer and I wanted to learn that type of freight to maybe one day get a straight trucker refer and do higher end expediting freight than auto dirtiness. Tri state has cargo van, straight trucks and TT out OTR but they're all o/o or fleet owners

So last week I got to crsro to pick up the prostar. Had to take the van to alsip and pick it up. Drove it back to crsro no problem. Switch all my stuff over. The next morning. I take off. Engine starts sputtering. Stop engine light comes on. Take it the whole 2 miles back to crsro. They check it and it pops up as crank shaft position speed sensor. Or something like that. Well they said wait and the cummins tech will look at it.

While waiting for the cummins tech. They decide they're going to replace the old Qualcomm with the new one. Which requires for me to take everything back out of my truck. Well since they have everything torn apart. The tech can't diagnose it because he has to drive it. And he can't drive it because they have stuff torn apart. So I get seated back in my Pete. Have to move half of my stuff back to the Pete. Half back to prostar.

Well fast forward to today. Get a call saying the prostar is ready. Get to crsro and move all my stuff to the prostar. Drive it down the road to get fuel. Same exact thing happened. So night mechanic said bring it in in the morning. And plan on putting your stuff back in the Pete.

Im in getting pretty #### tired of moving my stuff. I'm about to go off on someone. I wonder if this is a sign that I should just stay in the Pete. But dang does that light weight prostar turn tight. Lol
