Greetings all, just completed my 6 week training with my first and hopefully last trucking company Rinaudo Heavy Haul out of Jacksonville FL great company and great people..I Learned a great deal being out on the road, shifting(13 spd, only 10's in school), backing, handling grades when 75,000+ lbs, Oversize(permits, flagging, lights etc) dealing with the 4 wheeler and there antics..lol nothing like what they taught us in school..not saying they didnt teach us anything, cause I had never been inside of a big rig prior to going to school and I did get the basic handling and control of a truck before going to work for Rinaudo so I can say I did learn something, but its a totally different ballgame out there on the road. All in all I can honestly say I'm happy with my career change, and look forward to the many miles ahead.. I'm on my own next week :biggrin_25524:. ....to be cont...I hope..lol

Good post. You just proved what many of us have been preaching; paying dues is just a myth. A new driver can start his career with a good company and isn't relegated to a few mega-starter company carriers. It just takes motivation.

Hi, about to retire form the Navy and scheduled to go to Roadmaster Jacksonville. I was interested to find out more about Rinaudo. They look like a good company. How much do you get paid during your 6 weeks of training. What does your home time look like. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the PM. I could not reply because i need 7 posts. I will definitely be applying to Rinaudo. At what point did you apply to them, was it a week or two before completing the school or earlier than that? Did you follow up with a phone call? Do you need Hazmat or TWIC card?
