We can if we have a safe place to park it, and we are usually limited to a 90 mile radius of home.
Best bet is to get a drop fairly near your house, or even a live if you have room to include the trailer.

My next home time is in Denver. I'll be getting a room at the Quality Inn, so parking a bt is no problem and I can drop my mt there at the terminal if need be.

When I was OTR, dedicated, and then regional, there was never a problem going home with the truck and empty trailer. Most of the time I already had a load on me for the day I wanted to come back out, from either Lowes or Campbell Soup. I was fortunate to have room at the house for the truck and trailer.

Taking the truck home varies from terminal to terminal, and then from Driver Leader to Driver Leader. At some places the distance is 50 miles or more away, while at others it is 90 miles.
