I was curious as to whether all or most companies pay for in house training. I've checked several company sites and some are clearly posted, while others are not. I could just contact a recruiter, but I don't want to rely on that source solely. Thanks.

Some pay the whole nut if you remain for a certain amount of time. Some pay for part of it if you stay a certain amount of time. Some pay lodging, some finance your lodging and school and then extract money from your pay for a determined length of time. Some determine your starting CPM by how much they have to finance of your training. Some pay travel expenses, some don't.

It really depends on the company. From my research, company sponsored training is generally less expensive than private.

Chances are a company that pays the most for your training, pays the least in wages.
    Hope this helps.

You could assume a conservative estimate somewhere in the range of $350-$400 per week for time in orientation and while out with a trainer.

Edit - thats if you pay for your CDL school yourself. If you go somewhere like England or someplace that pays for your CDL school up front all bets are off. From stories about England you'll be lucky to get any money out of them at all.

I went with Central Refrigerated to get my CDL. Training cost $3000, but you would only end up paying $1500 if you stayed for one year. They put me up in a bunk house on site for one week and then a hotel for another two weeks while I did the training and attended orientation.

Training pay was $375, then $425, finally topping out at $450. I was out with a trainer for four weeks, 29 days to be exact. When I was a company driver my training was deducted out of my check at like $28 a week.

Every company is different. Get whatever offer you receive from a recruiter IN WRITING, and then remember that even though its in writing, the company can tell you either accept what we have now or get back on the bus...

Is there a bunk house while in Utah or just for that first week?
