You can also contact Navajo through their website, and leave comments. I left a link to this thread, and asked if this was how Navajo treats it's employees.Criminey Jade and JustPj Thank this. -
I just sent them a message on Facebook with the link to this thread and a message stating that in my opinion I think its wrong they abandoned her without a bus ticket to get home.
KHJustPj, Criminey Jade, pattyj and 1 other person Thank this. -
On the Indianapolis news last night they told of a young veteran that found a deal on an Ipad in a Craigslist listing, when he went to make the purchase he was murdered. This really makes you stop and think about how we seem to take things for granted in our dealings with total strangers. Nix the Craigslist solutions....
The Challenger and JustPj Thank this. -
Ok after reading through the thread.....here is what I propose....I see that you(understandably) don't want to spend your money to get home. Its conceivable to ask a fellow trucker for a ride to Denver........I purchased a bus ticket for a man in Alabama trying to get home after his company learned of his cancer and dropped him!!! I purchased a ticket for him to get to Jacksonville FL...if you spend a little $ to get to the bus station 20 miles away, Ill pay for you a bus ticket, you don't pay me back or nothing just consider it a gift from The God almighty!!!!!
"for whatever you have done for the least of them, you have done unto me!"PST, The Challenger, Criminey Jade and 2 others Thank this. -
Ill be sitting all weekend so ill look for a response, matter fact ill pay for ticket before you go to nearest station so you wont think im just pulling your leg...
Lux Prometheus, pattyj and Hitman Thank this. -
I don't care what the other side to this story is,under no circumstances you DO NOT drop or dump a trainee off anywhere and let them fend for themselves. The owner of my last company did that, dropped me off at a motel in the frzzing cold and snow.I literally threw all my belongings out in the snow.I had some real nice ppl on my side. The motel was going to let me stay the night if I didn't have a ride home. They would have paid for it and eventhough they don't allow pets they let tiny in the motel and fed her. They fed me and they did have a religious friend of theirss take me to go rent a car an hr away.I did sue the owner and myself and my lawyers received a nice settlement.I know the feeling to be dumped anywhere.Wish I could have helped this lady. Its been a day, hope she found a way home. This is one of many reasons why you should ALWAYS have extra money.I was scared though because I had no way of getting anywhere before I met those nice folks at the hotel.
Criminey Jade, bullhaulerswife, luvtotruck and 3 others Thank this. -
This is what I put up on their FB page!
"I heard this same story, of a Female trainer trainee a newbie and she pitched her out in the cold up in Washington right in the middle of no where! Hmmm, Navajo What do you have to say for yourselves? Mr. Digby maybe you can comment on this situation!"
I Bet they don't respond!JustPj, The Challenger and Criminey Jade Thank this. -
Thank you for all your info, catalinaflyer! The laws and policies make sense. There was an earlier post on this thread with an url for another ride share from Seattle to Denver, and I've been in touch with HER. She's leaving Monday or Tuesday, I'm just waiting to see if she'll agree to pick me up. I don't think women are apt to kidnap or do other dirty deeds, percentage-wise.
I'll keep you all posted!bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Thank heavens I'm not looking for a new iPad!
Seriously, thank you for the heads up. What a horrible story.
