For those companies that call wanting to know why you stopped,it is real easy to record everything said.... It is simply called use whatever type of communications device is tracking you(Qualcomm,Peoplenet,etc) and only that so there is a record.Never let them bully you simply state you are tired and use that hated four letter word **SAFE** in your communications.
As for finding parking when your hours are up,well that is what route planning is for! Plan your route and have two or three fall back stops before your planned rest stop i n case of delays.It isn't as hard as some make it out to be.Always give a couple of hours to loading/unloading and figure in fuel plus 30 min break times.You will find you have a lot less tress and you don't fight for parking as much.
Important for newbies--do this EVERY DAY!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!NO EXCUSES!!!

Thanks..pass that on to my son who just bought his truck...tired of workin for the man after 10 yrs. best of luck to him..but he said he'll be home every day doing regional at 500 miles round trip daily.

That's the beauty of loose paper logs. You can make a siesta disappear and not hurt your 14. Never had to do that before the 14 hour rule. Just saying.....
