I would LOVE to explain what is wrong with all those states. Let me start!!!
No reload once unload, might even have to wait around a day or two.
Get a reload that is 200 miles away, and spend all day driving and getting loaded.
Tolls, if your a company driver this won't matter if you have to pay $100 - $200.
No where to park. If you do park on the side of the road you might get a ticket.
Traffic that is jam packed, cuts you off, and blows the horn at you because your in "their" way.
Spend all day moving 100 miles either because of traffic or mountains where the safe top speed is 35mph.
Confusing traffic patterns (New Jersey) that where not designed for trucks.
How to exempt yourself from driving through certain states?

RizenPhoenix and joseph1135 Thank this. -
Somebody has a past they need to clean up!

Yeah whats up CDL-A, why are you so afraid to say why you don't want to drive in certain places. Why even podt this, you know everyone will ask.

So, basically the OP doesn't want to leave OH? Best bet is local bucket work, trash hauling or oilfield related stuff. Or LTL. Trust me, if you say to your OTR dispatch team "I don't want to go to Boston", that's where you'll spend a lot of time. I said exactly that, and wound up getting quite familiar with it. I was also in dispatch for a bit and there it's regarded as a perverse sort of entertainment to send a driver some place way out of his comfort zone.
Sublime Thanks this. -
Nope. New Hampshire has some of the least strict gun laws in the country.

Totally agree, there are THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of people who WOULD LOVE TO DRIVE A TRUCK in any of the 48 states and Canada, but will never be allowed to do so due to either background or health issues.
YOU HAVE THE HONOR of being able to drive professionally and get paid, (hopefully well), for it. Please do NOT put these artificial barriers up against yourself. If you will NOT drive to the states that you are refusing, someone else WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY to do so in your place. Think about it.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Cman301 Thanks this. -
The only way you can exempt yourself from driving in certain states as an OTR driver is to buy your own truck, get your own carrier authority and book your own loads. Simple as that.MJ1657, Cman301 and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this.
