even if you think you have the "right job" or company, something is always out there ready and waiting to bite you in the ###. i did local ltl for years and for me it this was my worst load.

day before thanksgiving, p/u 3 cases of cotton yes that's right, not a t/l, 3 ****** cases at mcniel in fort washington (makers of tylenol) that HAD to go same day to a contract packager in CT so they could run lines over the holiday weekend. i left around 10 and pulled into their dock at 3, crawling from exit 14 of the turnpike all the way up to CT.

the receiver had the 3 cases off before i ever got onto the dock. did a quick bathroom break and back out onto 95. finally got home at midnight. i hadn't bought the turkey yet since we were living in a tiny apartment with an even tinier refrigerator. got up at 6, went to my local grocery store to buy a fresh bird. the only one left was 24lbs. for 2 people. to this day i hate turkey and tylenol.

41 ton roll off dumpster pulled onto a 4 axle mack granite straight truck. 8 foot wheelie, broke about 5 strands on the cable. 11 mile journey to scrap yard. total weight 112,xxx ( Max legal } 73,280. stopping and going was fine. slightest curve in the road it stuck with gravity.

the unload took about 2 seconds, scrap coils shot about 100 feet down the yard.

did that dumpster 5 weeks in a row. varied 34-41 ton. broke crap every time. my boss would ring up the customer and complain on speaker. yeah nothing was solved. i 'forgot' to go one week and never was asked again.

A load of 99 propane tanks going 1680 mile on an ancient tandem flatbed. The boards on the deck were dry rotted and the dunage nails
pulled out. I had rows of tanks moving. I used about ten 2 inch straps to get it there.

Absolutely true story....I don't think ANYONE can beat me on this one, even though it wasn't a trailer...2 front end loader buckets full of pig manure. The flies and smell were extremely overpowering for the 1/10 mile trips .I don't think anyone else here had to suppress the need to puke making their delivery.:smt078
