Swift isn't for everyone you have to deal with alot of crap. They do try to manage everything but you are brand new driving their truck. Lets face it their are alot of dumb swift drivers out their. I try hard everyday not to be that swift driver that hangs out in the right lane for 10 minutes to pass Cr England. But it's experience and its not like it use to be. I can almost guarantee I will not be with swift in a year because I will move on cause I don't want to train people. But as far as the school. I did a short post on it pretty much sums up everything you need to know about it. Anything else you can message me. I went their is past September so it is fresh in my mind.
slim415 Thanks this. -
Down time is the same as any other company. When I was solo on national OTR, I generally ran 2000-2200 miles per week with 60+ hours used on my 70. Sitting for more than 16 hours was rare, except for taking a 34.
Usually a little higher than that, unless you take advances.
Easy solution... turn off the CB. That does wonders for your blood pressure.
Usually, the backup is from being passed by a 65 MPH truck. The 59 MPH truck usually speeds up once they see a Swift truck trying to pass.
Never ran into that. My DM was to busy to micromanage anyone. Same goes for the planners and dispatchers.
I believe that the 67 MPH overspeed is a myth. I often run 65-68 MPH down hills, and never had one. I've broken 70 a few times and didn't get one. The only person I talked to who got one was doing over 75 in a company truck at the time.
The truck smells like what YOU make it. Empty your trash regularly, and do laundry more often than once a month, and odor isn't a problem. My truck had been detailed before I got it, and I was told that that's standard procedure. -
Yea I heard the motel sucks.

just curious what do you mean by over speed

Well as you may or may not know Swift limits their trucks to 62mph. (both for fuel and insurance reasons) You can put your foot to the floor and it will only go 62. I call it cruise control. But if you go down a hill your truck will naturally go faster. If you go above 67mph they yell at you. Do it to many times they will fire you. Go above 70 you will be looking for a new job. That's what they say.
