Don't be another preachy dumb-###. We got plenty of those here. I have never caused an accident ..I haven't even had a traffic ticket for 27 years. You can't control what other people do.. You really got twist thing in the imagination so you can somehow think there is an argument going on?

    Now say your sorry!

I'll post what I want dude. I'm the one saying you can prevent accidents, not that you can control what others are doing. Control yourself and watch the actions of others. Accidents are not inevitable. If you want me to get preachy, I don't think that a driver that thinks accidents are inevitable should be falsifying their logs. That's a nice recipe to lose everything you have, including your freedom.

I had another trucker attempt a u-turn on the free-way (!) in front of me ...I came to a complete stop and laid on the horn -he just kept comming ..no escape. Two other times trucks hit my trailer while I was parked.

    #### happens ...I take it in stride and still have a clean record. If some one drives 40 years without ever running afoul of a bad driver they are way at the end of the bell-curve and a certain amount of dumb luck is involved.

On the one hand you certainly can't control what other people do behind the wheel of their vehicle, on the other hand you certainly have control of your truck.

You aren't "rolling the dice" when you get behind the wheel. You have control of whether you get your nose up in a bad situation or not. You have eyes and ears to try and predict and expect "bad behavior" and adjust for it. You can be the vehicle that is predictable in traffic AND that is GIVING plenty of space.

"Accidents are not inevitable". - Meltom

    That's the bottom line.

    "Invalid attachment specified"

If wise teachers seem to be overflowing, perhaps it is in response to the stoppage in someone's toilet. Just sayin'...

I don't agree with the "dumb luck" theory, not for the aware, defensive driver! OTOH, the driver that is consistently pushing the limits of "allowable speed", crunching down (falsifying) a log book, and just general mayhem driving and not getting caught is being "lucky" to not getting caught...that (the latter) kind of driver would fall in Meltom's statistics of "it will eventually happen"!
