Texaco has run them for years.
But I think the main reason you don't see them is because of the saying that goes with Mack. Do you know why the bulldog is mounted on the hood? So you have one assh-le looking at another.

WSE uses a few still. (Also other Comcar companies in the south east such as CC, CTL, CCC) Use to be whole fleet of 700 until about 2 years ago. There is someone in the midwest thats entire fleet is Mack too. Cant remember the name. SLT? Green and Yellow Trucks. There are more, but off the top of my head, thats what I remember. I love them. Most comfertable company truck I have driven so far. Only problem is that they are heavy heavy heavy. Any load over 40k lbs was a worry until scaled out. If I do go O/O, thinking of getting a used 03-05 Mack 613. Rock bottom prices it seems. Starter truck?

You are thinking of Sharkey, they run the yellow and green macks. Also, Bulkmatic runs a bunch (in addition to FLs), and so does Highway Transport (a tanker company).

There are still quite a few companies out there that use the Macks as their primary power units. As I have stated before Mack has come a long, long way and (imo) have some of the best equipment out here on the road today. Also you don't have to over pay for the oval tag to get the job done and be comfortable doing it. They really stepped up their game a few years ago when they went outside and brought in another company to build their "Hi-Rise" sleepers. They really incorporated them together to produce one of the most spacious Hi-Rise sleepers that I have ever had the pleasure to use. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and everybody has one too.

UPS is using Mack single screw day cabs for their line haul around here. I'm not particularly fond of Mack, and I'm really not fond of two axle tractors, particularly when pulling more than one trailer.

Me neither. I hate pulling doubles with a tandem, especially if some idiot's got the fifth wheel slid all the way back. I did that once and it left me wondering if that''s what triples feel like.

Dito, they took mine at 540k when I was with WSE. Put me in a sucky columbia just like EVERYONE else.

I had a pickup near Chitown last week and noted the Mack Truck parts warehouse. My gal wanted to go in for a look... Then I reminded her it was 9pm and we'd likely get tossed out rather quickly. lol
CCC, CT, CTL, WSE, all mentioned above, still use plenty of MACK'S. I went to their Auburndale(FL) HQ about 2 months ago and all I could see were MACK trucks. I donno why, but until going there, I didn't even realized WSE was part of that group. The ladies in the office were telling me who was looking for what when WSE was thrown in and I was like, "DUH!" to myself. That explains the color coodination thing. heh
Anyway, I kinda like 'em. I remember my dad allowing me to climb aboard one back in the 70's and brashly stating in his gravel like voice, "THIS is what we call A TRUCK, sport!" It was probably a 1960 model daycab and had what I think were called "twin sticks" alongside the driver seat. He quickly added with a laugh, "Stay to the far side now... I need 3 arms to shift this thing!" Ahh, to be a kid again. That was one serious truck in my young eyes. He loaded an 8 wheeled Ford tractor(4 wheels removed) onto a lowboy and soon it drove away, billowing heavy black smoke and sounding very angry. MAN that was cool!!!

builders transport llc out of memphis tennessee-(flatbed carrier)-is converting from a freightliner fleet to a mack fleet for their over the road tractors from what i have read.
arkansas concrete out of west memphis arkansas is an all mack fleet-(from what i have seen at their west memphis yard)-even their shop wrecker is a bulldog.
seen quite a few macks as cement mixers and garbage trucks around memphis but have also seen quite a few volvo cement mixers and freightliner garbage trucks.
waste connections and waste management that do commercial garbage pick-up i know for sure use mack trucks.
at one time i do know that memphis light gas and water used to have macks with cement mixer bodies on them then they either switched or added volvo's with cement mixer bodies into their fleet.
but why in the world did those cement mixer macks and volvos for memphis light gas and water come with spoke wheels on the steer axle and drive axles.
