Hub Serial Number?

    I am updating my trucks profile on the CARB website for the low use provision and it asks for my 'Hub serial number' along with my trucks 'PTO Hour-meter reading.'. I found the PTO HMR in my dash read out under the Engine Information category but can't find anything about HS#?

    I tried Googling this but can't find any results. Thanks in advance for your help!

    odo. mounted on hub, is what they want # off of. PTO use keeps from getting had on idle time.

    I could be wrong, but I think what they are asking for is the serial number on your hubometer. The reason being that each year you are going to have to report your mileage for the year so that they can determine compliance. If they have the serial number, then you would not be able to change out the hubometer to imitate compliance. This is just a guess, so if someone does know for sure please correct me here.

    So where exactly is a hubometer at on a Freightliner Century? When you say hub is that the LED readout on my dashboard that shows my odometer reading? The only serial number I can find is DASH # A22-6109X-XXX and under that is SW # 2_2.1

    The hubometer is usually on one of your drive wheels on the drivers side, they mount right to the hub on the axle studs, you will see them on trailers also. you might not have a hubometer, they are an aftermarket item. In the old days the mechanical odometers on the speedometer were very inaccurate as a general rule, so companies would install a hubometer because they were more accurate. I worked for one company in the seventies that required the drivers to stop at each state line and get out to write down the mileage off the odometer, what a pain in the hind quarters.

    I left it blank and CARB never said anything. I think they have bigger problems right now including the amendments they are voting on today. I think most people may be better off not reporting to CARB if you only have one or two trucks and run under 20% in CA.
