I know this is off topic, but yet another reason i feel for you drivers out there up against all the electronics and do gooders and yes the drivers that are saying how safe you all are because of an electronic log --every time you let or get forced upon you another law or gadget a brain cell goes away and a little freedom goes with it.
Oh and those ...those.. those low life truck following spies on youtube that film some big truck going down the road measuring speed and following distance. Start... Stop (following distance time) Start... Stop (following distance time) -- sick. What kind of sick self righteous person would do that.
I hope somebody can identify them -- and find them and ........
Somebody on this site actually said how much they like the electronic log because of how easy it was --really --how hard is it to draw a line ?
Forgot to add that i dont really think someone should drive 24 straight --but come on.
Cheating on logs

I'll be honest. I like the elog not because its "easy". But it makes people accountable. Not the shippers and receivers mind you, but the planners, dispatchers and drivers. No excuses now on certain people's parts.
"Hang - Man" Thanks this. -
Coming from you Joeseph, cause i respect the way you roll, no excuses, and i know you get maximum use out of that electronic log and actually make money out there (as much as i know about you on the internet and what you have posted ) but even you could benefit from a little leeway and not chained to 15 minutes here and there.
That line i do agree with is being able to use their (planners, dispatchers and drivers) own machine to stop their madness when they draw a strait line across the map through weather and traffic and start pushing.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
I'm responsible, and I stil don't see how anyone can say what goes on with another company's elogs, they aren't all the same and aren't all enforced the same.
As far as it goes, I don't get any scrutiny on paper. I just wish for some flexibility, without being hung out to dry over seconds like some people have related to me, and having someone edit or make it disappear when it fits the agenda of the company. I talked to a driver for a large, well known company still on paper, e-logs are going to those with trouble following the rules and unproven new drivers, since I'm hardly new, I don't care for being in the category of a new driver, but he also said, he had to tell them sometimes when he couldn't run, as I have told dispatch when I couldn't continue.
I do long distance shag runs, and get lots done, and am able to stop when it's time with no argument. I run into receivers being out of hours more often than I run short myself of legal hours to drive.
Just wish shipping could get it together enough to keep us drivers from having to pick up so many pieces, it would be nice to have an easy day turn out as planned."Hang - Man" and Roadmedic Thank this. -
These rules are nothing more than opening us up for a possible error to be spotted.25(2)+2 and "Hang - Man" Thank this.

Yep yep -shipping and receivers there's where all the time is lost and what pushes and forces drivers to have to stretch the truth. Making a driver sit holding their product for 12 hours sucks.25(2)+2 and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
Honestly i was thinking about driving again, but man you drivers are in a huge vise being squeezed by government, companies, civilians and truly unbelievable to me other drivers it makes me a little ill.

You do not have to just worry about the scales anymore. They find you on the road."Hang - Man" and 25(2)+2 Thank this. -

Actually finding a place near enough to park in Chicago for 14 hours because I was minutes away and they wouldn't wait, without being unsafe or being otherwise bothered is the problem. I know of a few places that fit that criteria.
That place gets it back from me, I go there last now, if I can, but in time so they still unload it. I had an extra pickup and an extra drop to make yesterday that ran me right to the 14 with traffic in the windy. It was nice and quiet in LaPorte at my last drop( the extra drop) but it would have been nice to be able to head for the last drop today before the Alberta Clipper moved through and snarled traffic this morning.
I ended up sleeping some more there anyway before the roads were good enough to drive home empty. -
Seen a bad one on the Skyway on facebook. Not looking forward to the next trip through this weekend for my weekly run. Thinking about doing it on Sunday and not on Saturday.
