Try researching companies that hire felons, there are a few. However those few are NOT the best paying , people friendly places to work. They'll help you get started in this industry ,but you need to know that you'll have a really hard time finding a grade-A company to take you on. Theft is usually a non starter for a decent job in any profession....hard for folks that have risked alot of time and money to get a business started to be able to trust a convicted thief...Not trying to be harsh , or negative...just being honest...you'd rather hear the truth about your chances than have someone pump sunshine up your skirt I'm sure. Good luck to you and your husband going forward....set your sights high, and keep a good attitude .

I have your book, "Chicken Soup for the Soul." I have around 2000 books in my private library. My 7 yr. old son walks around the house with a book in his hand and reads in English and Mandarin.

Here's a few team outfits to look at; apply with as many companies as you want & you'll get job offers:

    Benny Whitehead Trucking
    Paschall Truck Lines
    Watkins & Shepard
    WLA Inc.
    Cooke Trucking Company
    Carolina Cargo

    Apply with all of them.

crst will higher felons but not the best company to go with. I went with them as my first choice bad mistake did good for 4 months pay sucked and then they put me with a co driver that came out of a school in OKC and went through a trainer and some how passed when he could not shift a truck properly needless too say they fired me because he was family to another driver who had been there for years and i was not going to stand being threatend by a guy who thinks he is all that and a bag of chips i got back in his face and was not backing down he called the company and said i pulled a knife on him i did not carry one but they took his side and i was on a bus back home

You might look into getting your record expunged.

I am not a driver but I know some things about criminal records. Some offenses can be expunged from the record after a certain period of time. That varies with each state and the offense in question. Understand that expunged means people outside law enforcement can't see it - law enforcement still can. It will take an attorney to make this happen if it is possible for your offenses. Another thing to consider is that you might not be able to get everything expunged even though all of your offenses may be eligible. The court might not want to expunge a person's record of multiple offenses all at the same time. The bottom line is you will have to get an attorney to get this done for you. The courts will not hear your motion without an attorney. You can expect to pay several thousand dollars to get this done but if it gets done rest assured it will stick and you will be good. You will be in a position to truthfully say on an application that you have no convictions. If at some point your employer does a back ground check and the expungement leaks out you are not guilty of lying on your application. From your post it sounds like you had charges related to one case. That sounds doable. Take my advice - never tell any one about it. Too often I have found your friend today is your enemy tomorrow. Bury it. Good luck.

Could also petition the Gov for a pardon. assuming you've done well since and kept clean. I have a close friend who did this. WITHOUT a lawyer involved. it cost very little and took some time. you do have to speak to or communicate with the governor (his office, basically a hearing board), judges and DA's. cost was less than $500 for paperwork.
