Well after talking to another two trainers it looks like western will be losing three of there trainers after the first of the year. There is something seriously wrong here if three trainers are all quitting.

Get out while you can

UPDATE
I finally got a call from someone locally that is willing to give me a job so I left on the 11th and I will be starting tomorrow or Tuesday. After 30 days on the trainer truck I found out my trainer didn't do 90% of his job and that log book he was suppose to be helping me with weekly recaps had to be done from day one off of qualcom logs. This company is quite possibly one of the worst companies in the country to work for, they had a massive back log of van drivers waiting up to two weeks or more to get a new truck. The person that did my road test through me under the bus by having me go through suburbia and letting the other two persons go on and off of highway on ramps. After talking with another trainer at the company he said the majority of the trainers don't give a turd about the trainees there just after the mileage. -
Who was it that was so desperate for a job they would do almost anything, like joining up with a carrier that bows down to the FMCSA. Welcome to the real world farm trucker....you just realized this is for the big dogs...not the puppies who run back and forth on the hillbilly highways.
This is where you get to prove your worthy of being handed the keys and dispatched to run on time without fail to maintain the companies most valued resource, the client. (you figured out the assets are less than the liabilities or the poop the recruiters enticed you to give a try).
Right now, I bet your wondering how to get off the truck so you can find a better job....join the millions who have walked trough the TTR forum postings about a bad company not to work for pages. Guess what, there are plenty of newbies willing to trade one bad company for another in search for the dream job and greener pastures... good luck with that!
Think about this, why are the companies so willing to hire someone with no experience driving OTR ??? Must be they need to fill seats and keep the freight moving as many a driver walks on in search of the bigger better deal at the end of the rainbow.
Imagine if you were to stick it out and get your own truck and weeks from now find that 900 dollars hard earned cash every week, but you left too soon to see the end to a means requires swallowing your pride for a couple of weeks till your out of training.
When your at the bottom, there is only one way up!DrivingForceBehindYou and truckinmike1984 Thank this. -
There are other companies that will take people like me and pay over $300 a week for training. All insurance companies say they require two years experience but they don't say how your supposed to get it. I was trying to use this company to get myself the experience but when drivers are telling me they had been sitting on the yard for over a week drawing $35 per day for break down pay it's yet another sign to run. Western express is worse than people online say it is and I couldn't put into words how bad it is. I have made more in three days at home than I did working for western for a full 70hr week, I'm happy if I can make $350 a week and be in my own bed. I had to live with a guy for thirty days that was a few cards short of a full deck and focused on pumping out miles to inflate his wallet. The trainer was supposed to perform twenty backing maneuvers per week with me and I may have gotten six in thirty days, when I did finally get my training log I found that it was 90% incomplete and he might have done ten days in it.
xenix Thanks this. -
