    Hello everyone,

Well first off I live in California, with about 1.5 years experience driving. I recently just upgraded my license so I can be able to haul hazmat. Well second off, I have no experience in this department. But I want to make some serious money hauling oil from Texas. I'm actually really considering to move to Texas to do this, but got little to no knowledge in what companies to look into and what to look out for. So if some of you guys can answer some of my questions, I would be very much happy.

    1. What companies do you recommend?
    2. What should be the average take home a day/week/month/year? (Either one will still help me get an idea what to look for)
    3. What is the average Company driver pay per mile?
    4. What companies will help me relocate?
    5. Do some companies help with housing? and if so what should I expect?

Well if you can answer at least one or all questions, I will really appreciate your time :biggrin_25520:

You dont really need to haul crude. You can haul water and still make good money. You can look for jobs @ workintexas.com or indeed.com or craigslist.org Try San Antonio, Odessa, Midland, San Angelo. Please kmow that housing is getting up there in price in some of these areas, and is hard to find. you can also check for housing and rooms for rent on craigslist in these same areas. Also check a map out and see what is close to these surrounding cities. It is booming there too! May God bless your journey. IN Jesus' name

Housing is not that hard to find anymore in Midland/Odessa. The prices are still high but vacancies are pretty easy to find.

Check out Dupre Logistics. They haul crude in South Texas and pay by the hour. Mission Carriers too haul crude.

Second vote for Plains Marketing, but you will need a year of experience out here before they will look at you. They're worth the wait, from what I hear.

Headed out to Midland/Odessa to take H&S classes. I have a couple of years experience operating a vac truck in the oilfields. First in ND and currently in CA. Looking for 4 days on 2 off or 6 days on 2 off or any schedule that will allow me to complete these weekday classes. I want to start work the first week of January or now. Any suggestions on companies, housing, campgrounds etc.?

Pinnergy, Select Energy and Nabors in Big Lake is 4 on 2 off. Tom Thorpe Transports in San Angelo is 4 on 2 off nights. 5-2 5-3 Days. Nibletts in Eldorado is 4-2 4-3. Rogers in Garden City is 5-1. Only reason I know this is because i called them to see if they were hiring.

    MisterT and TrentonWD Thank this.
