I am from Northwest Michigan, Cadillac to be exact... I am trying to get into training but each company I look at doesn't have a hiring area above say Grand Rapids. Don't want a C.C. or Indenpendent School. I would like to sign on to one company and take their traning. Please advise if possible.
Michigan sucks....

Yep- no offense, but if you want to be in a secure hub, you need to be IN a hub area. Cadillac ain't it.

And what's wrong with a Community College for training?!?
I took my training at Lansing Community College Truck Driver Training. At the time, it was that only truck driver training school endorsed by the Michigan Trucking Association.
The training takes place at Fort Custer in Augusta, just west of Battle Creek, MI. You get 12 credit hours of college credits, and as a bonus, you actually know how to drive a truck when you leave! HA!
I highly encourage anyone who wants to get into trucking to take the LCC Truck Driver training course as a first step - then look to the school for referrals.

It would be ok for someone with time for a college, housing cost, o and lives near it. I look into Baker here and its a nine month course. I for one who isn't near retirement age doesn't have the time nor the means for something like that. Also have a family with three kids.
