I use Weather Bug... but its what I have used on my phones & PCs for quite some time. I havent looked around or compared any others. I like it so I just keep using it. It may be way behind for all I know.

I'd be careful of Weather Bug. I haven't been around them since about 2005 but they use to be bad about putting trash on people's computers like popup ads and stuff like that. For that reason I don't trust any downloads from them.

On my Android and even my desktop I use the AccuWeather.com widget. It has some cool graphics and easy to use. It has it all from radar, satellite, hourly to monthly forecasts to favorite cities to several map overlays. I also have a local TV station one that is really cool but that wouldn't be useful on the road.

I just use the NOAA radar/s. National and every local radar coast-to-coast at my fingertips. http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/full_loop.php

I've dealt with the trash on the computer, but their Android apps, both paid and free are great. Been using it for years so I decided to pay for it.

I believe Weatherbug, Weather Channel, and Accuweather are the top Android apps I've heard of.

For me I like the [free] Weather Channel's IOS app for general weather information and forecast and radar related to specific cities/regions. The free version is not too clunky with ads and seems to be perfectly adequate. It's intuitive and easy to add/edit up to 8 locations for quick reference The radar with the TWC app can be slow to update when zooming out or scrolling over so ...

For localized radar when the situation becomes potentially critical, I like Radarscope. It's a little more featured (and costly) then most will need but having a storm chaser background, I appreciate better radar products with better resolution, more current updates, and the option to use enhanced radar services with additional subscription if desired.

My truck's radio with wx band will alert on any warnings in the more immediate area without listening to the wx radio, so I will rely on that, where others get various apps that require constant updating and are mostly unreliable at crunch-time.
