N14 Overhaul or another truck?

Why would u overhaul with 500k on the build and why in the world would u go to a 2007-2008 pos???? Scratchin my head on this one

 

What year is it ,what does it do for work,what shape is the rest of the truck in, An 07-08 that's when most are wanting to get rid of a truck cause they are going to cost a lot to keep running because that's when a lot of things start to wear out. but again what is the truck used for...........

 

You need a mechanic to look at it, the miss could be as cheap as a pass thru connector on an injector.

I would start with a dyno,and find someone that knows n-14's, Call around to find a good mechanic, they are a good motor, you must keep good bearings in them I wish I still had mine. But with the 02 truck at least you know what it needs and what's been done, A little money and you could have a great truck again..............

 

Just a miss at certain rpm or loads shouldn't make you condemn the truck. N14's are quite reliable, get some diagnostics and oil samples run and see what's up. Cheaper to keep her doesn't only apply to spouses

 

Find a good mechanic to diagnose it first. Secondly ask yourself if you like the truck.

 

on an N14 it's not typical to replace cam bearings with an inframe. So if that wasn't done first go around, I'd definitely look at doing it on the next. However that will cost a good bit more money because the hood, radiator, front cover, etc. need to come off to do so.
