Coffee is not coffee unless its freshly ground just before brewing and the best Arabica beans come from the finest of plantations of Asia, and South America.
Yes, it costs a tad more, but why buy cheap coffee, which most of it comes from Vietnam, or is deemed low quality.
Just a bit of effort can produce amazing results and work out much cheaper than the stuff truck stops call coffee.

Background in accounting and taxes so I am well aware of costs. Most of the truckstops are not losing any fortunes.
The smaller stops have a harder time with the volume pricing that Pilot does. -
If you look at how it works nowadays the pilot store makes a profit. then the corporation that owns pilot makes a profit then the distributors that are owned by pilot make a profit, like the refineries. Then the board and upper management get their 1% perks like airplanes and condos in the city, 400 times the workingman's pay huge bonus and tax deductible stock options and all that stuff on the company. Then they spend a lot of profit building new stores like crazy and buying out the competition the stockholders get a little. the government often helps pay for the infrastructure to build the stores and subsidizes the refining and production of oil

Keurig cost twice as much for the packaging. You can easily make a small pot for half the price. But Keurigs are convenient. I use to have one of them coffee makers that use pods. I had the pod maker and all. It got old after awhile. If you like Keurig check out DealDash.com. One thing I noticed is the boxes of Keurigs sell real cheap. You have to be careful on that site and bit late night but you can pay pennies on the dollar for Keurig coffee.
You use to get 1 point a gallon on your rewards cards 20 years ago. Today you still get 1 point a gallon. The problem is stuff cost more than double. You all need a point raise!
I have two grinders. I won't have it any other way. The darker the better. -
I,m getting four points a gallon at the p .lot so thats like a free overpriced lunch with every fillup or two cups of coffee

I refuse to drink coffee from the Pilot/FJ brands...taste like dirty dishrags spiked with old smelly socks....
Long ago I invested in a small gas burner and a mesh screen and can make espresso in under three minutes, about the time it takes to park and run inside. Taste great and has twice the kick! I prefer Special Roast or Medium Roast. The stronger flavor comes from knowing how much grind to use! Not too much, or too little. -
I fuel at the pilots/fly js and get free coffee...very good

Coffee is coffee.

Nope coffee is not coffee unless it's top quality arabica. You could say the same about beer, cigarettes. I wouldn't touch coffee in a TS. It's weak and poor quality. Most of the poor quality stuff comes from Vietnam now. Costco sells an excellent brand in 2.5lb bags. I grind my own on the truck every morning, boil the water and use a Bodum French press. Been doing this for the past 30 yrs. Sorry but there's nothing better. It doesn't cost me much either. A few cents a cup. There is a big profit margin in coffee especially the custom made stuff, like lattes.
Hey, but if you like the cheap free stuff they give away, good luck, it's your funeral. -
Like every thing else Trucking was better when coffee was free at most truckstops.Speedway started charging then every one else did too.
