The mileage is not going to be the same. GPS almost always takes me farther than the miles Trans Am pays for the trip. Im thinking its just another way to screw the driver.

Thats why I rarely follow route solution. I swear the planners usr google maps anyways. I find the route that matches closest to what Im beng paid nless I decide I dont mind going out of route for my own purposes.

It is a gorgeous night n Pittsburgh. 56 degrees!

I received a very nice email this evening from friend and former TransAm driver, Badboy4lyfe69. He wanted to send his best wishes to all of us and to let us know that he is doing well with his new job. Congrats, Badboy!

Well here it is.. I turned their truck in yesterday in Olathe. I thought long and hard about that decision. I really hated quitting so early but with my current health condition and having to be home almost every week for doc appointments I figured this will be the best choice. I also felt like there is no way I could survive on a lease having to be home so often.
I did sign on with an oil field company pulling a flatbed. I will be hauling hole casing and drill pipe for the natural gas industry in PA. I figured this way I can keep driving and be local to make my appointments. The longest runs I will have to make will be to Youngstown, OH from Williamsport, PA. This job pays hourly (not sure about the Youngstown runs that may be by the mile). I am actually looking forward to learning the flatbed side of the business. This is totally new to me. It's also going to be nice not having to worry about miles and truck payments..
As for my health I am having some weird symptoms either from the stents they put in or from the meds I am on now. Probably side effects from the meds. I won't know for sure until I get all the tests done. One thing that is happening now is my shoulders ache so bad especially when I'm laying down. It wakes me up all night long. They feel like someone literally punched me in the shoulders ( I know.. not good for flatbedding). During the day they reeally don't bother me too much. Anyone ever heard of that?

Sorry to hear about the problems EMCHIEF. Not sorry that your leaving TA's lease operations. Think, that in the long run, you'll be a lot better off.

My sister called me last night, and let me know that her husband, has to go back in for a heart catheter procedure. He has already had one open heart surgery for a bad valve, and they knew he had another one going bad then. We're hoping that it hasn't gone completely bad, and that a stent will take care of his problems. If not, we're looking at another open heart. My sister asked me up for the last one, and I couldn't make it. Will this time, if I have to. Anyway, if your into praying, send some up for them.

On the topic of TrasAm dropping the route solution message when dispatching drivers.
TransAm has a track record and I don't blame you for thinking this. However, judging from only one trip since TA announced this policy, this could be a good thing for drivers. The GPS miles, on this first load since the change, match the paid miles in the load information message!

I have found the in truck GPS to be accurate as far as miles I could expect to drive to a destination. I don't know where the old route solution came from, what software that they used. If TA now pays AND routes drivers using the same in truck software, it could mean, I will be paid for the actual miles that I drive.

Anyone else notice the same thing? I will keep an eye on it and see if the load information and the GPS miles continue to match.
