My weeks ending different. Taking a load home over the weekend to deliver in cincinatti on Monday. Be nice to do something different than Illinois.
believe it or not I've been having an otr itch lately.
I also want to go to slc. It's a nice city. Plus the cafe at crswvc has some good food.

Side note. I hate when I wake up at 0330 and can't leave until 0700. Dang 10'hr rule

As much as I enjoy maligning the swift takeover, I somehow doubt that any company can survive giving their entire workforce a 22% cut in base pay, not to mention another 10% if you count OTD and safety bonus. This is America. People quit jobs over much less. "Facts" without sources are just rumors.

dont worry man. hes nothing more than a wannabe who "knows everything" every trucking school class has the 1 KID in the class who " I know how to do everything and I know everything" type mentality. Reminds me of my trainer. He told me "if you ever cant find a empty, then you got to wait for someone to bring you a empty, no bobtailing allowed" Im like so when the person who brings you a empty has no empty when he gives it up, then what happens to him? i hate people who know everything about anything, when they dont know nothing.

anytime you go local you get the OTR itch. When I went to SLC to trade in my truck. Man was I excited. lol. but i always know deep down I like local better. $ wise and hometime wise. Mile pay is good but hourly you get paid for everything.

Fact.. I have a student on my truck now that has been told he would start at .28 a mile, that's the same ol same ol for central and we are technically already swift. This being said somebody needs to validate their BS story before going public with it. And the deal with the bonuses, that's BS as well. No more drivers that actually do get either or both bonuses that's a small prices to pay for incentive to better your company's safety and performance record. People, we have always kinda been "owned" by swift. Why do you honestly think they'll start doing crap now that will cause the drivers to quit? He'll the drivers are one of the biggest if not the biggest reason we were "bought". Why waist time and money trying to hire and train 2000 drivers when you can simply buy 2000 experienced drivers and all their support network? It all makes for good business across the board. Will there be some changes, I'm sure of it but they are not going to bite the hand "the drivers" that feed them. I'm certainly not what you would call a company man but I will say this, keep your head up and don't listen to all the BS that you hear. We will all more than likely be better off in the wash.

I checked in at the swift yard in Jonestown today. They don't have us integrated into their systems yet so he just said carry on as usual. There was a long line at the window that made me wonder if you have to call up the chain I command every single time you move. Hopefully it's just slow checking into terminals tho!! Thanks to whoever left the one dirty unfueled reefer! You're a champ.

Yeah, I checked the story against centrals recruiting website before flaming it this morning. The .28 cpm is in keeping with industry standards. I believe starting swift drivers get .26, and companies that have reefer and dry divisions typically pay the reefer drivers a couple cents extra. To pay reefer drivers less than dry boxers would be unusual to say the least.

Its bad enough central won't just be honest with us about what's changing and what it means; the last thing we need is unsubstantiated rumors. Of course management could put an end to this by just being up front with their drivers...

You should've seen the selection at ororoh yesterday. 4 mt's, only one good enough to go in to a pickup. There's no fuel or washout nearby either, so naturally I snagged that one.
