National Idemnity quoted me for $9500 for a year vs. $7500 for six months. They were also screwy with financing the policy. I guess you can see why I didn't go with Flo (Progressive)
Best insurance company

I had Progressive and at renewal they jacked my rates 40% with no claims. IO went with AIC and had a lower rate than Progressive gave me when I first started out.

We've had Great West for years, probably not the cheapest but they are a good company, however we will be shopping as my policy comes up shortly, I am not totally happy with my agent.

Do u like national r the rates good
-
Progressive sucks, stay away from them. Try Northland. My cousin has a bad driving record and they quoted him half of what Progressive charges. With his record, he's paying some $8k/year.

Northland is good for me.
Best thing to do is get a local agent that specializes in truck insurance, and let him go to work. -
I'm not sure what kind of issues people have with progressive commercial but I have them and they have me paying $8789.00 a year with a 1 Mil policy 100 K cargo and full comp and collision on truck and trailer they haven't raised me even when I just renewed. So all I can say is best of luck to ya

Sounds like you found a good agent Ryan. Lots of agents out there quoting good qualified drivers, new start up companies ridiculous rates. Talked to a guy yesterday, he has had a cdl for 8 years, no accidents, no claims, or tickets and Progressive told him $18,000. Had him call a agent some of us here use and it was half that. And with the agent we had him call, after the first year without any issues when he renews itt drop another $1,500 to $2,000.
A lot of Insurance agents are like used car salesmen. They'll try to get every last penny they can out of a customer. -
I actually went through a local agency in my town who are progressive agents or however they are explained but it is also through the NC Farm Beaureau so I pay a yearly fee for that but for the policy and full comp plus collision on the truck I would say not a bad deal. I do also have my personal vehicle with progressive and that's $35.00 a month. I do not think it's right that truckers especially indipendants have to pay such high rates something has to give in order for us to succeed.flatbedcarrier Thanks this.
