My wife and I, she's a class B CDL holder, me a class A CDL holder go to the Petro in Perrysburg, Oh and pick out a driver and pay for his meal without him knowing about it on either Christmas Eve morning or Christmas morning. We're both local so we're always home on the holidays, so we figure, brighten someone's day who can't make it home.

I think JB Hunt gives free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to their drivers that were on the road. Or at least they used to. I remember seeing a sign in a TA saying that their drivers eat for free

And what are you trying to say?

slowpoke thats a nice gesture, if I wanted to do that the best options here in Tehachapi at the Loves is McDonalds/Subway or picking up a driver and driving him to Dennys or something.

Wasn't looking for kudos, but thanks for the "thanks" anyway
My wife and I figure, since we're both home every holiday, we don't have small children at home anymore, our family plans center around Christmas Eve, and we're only about 20 minutes from the T-5 truck stops in Perrysburg, why not make someone who is not able to get home day a little brighter. My wife and her mom planned to bake a bunch of cookies and pick up a bunch of Christmas cards to give to drivers at the same Petro but my SIL had to have shoulder surgery so my MIL had to be out in kommiefornia to help the SIL rehab and take care of the grandson since Thanksgiving. So that is their plan for next year now. -
yeah I have 2 little girls, one turning 6 next month and the other 14 months old so I try to be home during the major holidays. My wife talked about baking a bunch of stuff and going around giving cookies out including to the fire department.
I know there are drivers out there that are unfortunate, some who even struggle to make enough money to eat, I been there and understand what its like. You going out there and helping a driver out is a decent thing to do and it makes me want to do the same, problem is finding who needs the help the most.
