Mickeyrat, you are a genius......yes, a training dbl....not a rookie by far, but been away from trucking over 5 years so I did have to go that route...I see the training dbl's must be the worst or less capable, otherwise, who would want to deal with all newbies?

Update: I finished up with my TE on Friday. I head back up to Green Bay on the 26th for week 3 and my sqt's (pretrip, couple, uncouple and a road test). I'm not sure what to expect for my sqt's in terms of requirements for passing. I guess I'll find out when I get there.

When I tell my DBL "fix this problem" he finds a solution. The rest of the first shift DBLs know that I expect the same from them, and I have a reputation among the support shift personal as well (saying "that's fine, I'll be in GB in x number of days, how about we sit down and you can explain your reasoning for ####### me up the ###?" tends to cut down on the BS").
The relationship between the dbl and the driver is akin to the relationship between a shark and the little sucker fish that eat the algae off the shark's skin. Either one without the other dies. You work well for your DBL and you both prosper. Your DBL works hard for you, you both prosper. If either one is a #### up, you both suffer.

Speaking as a trainer and as someone who was strenouely encoured to become a 0-90 day DBL by upper management those who accept that position tend to have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others achieve. I have experienced much success in my life but by far the most rewarding are not those successes that I have achieved on my own but rather those that I helped others to achieve.
Now I want you to think about all of the dumb ### drivers you've come across in your time. The 0-90 DBL has to try and take untested rookies and make them into profitable drivers. That is one hell of a challenge. I spent an hour on Sunday reteaching a new driver about the permit book (something that's covered at least twice during training). It's not that the 0-90 DBL is less capable, but they have more #### to deal with than any other DBL.91B20H8, moosc, ethos and 1 other person Thank this. -
Good points, and that particular driver that you had to "re-think" for, is a separate example of things gone crazy....my issue so far is the lies regarding what day hometime is set for and what is being said to cover up lies...at this point, staying on for this .27cpm is pointless, but leaving for another carrier would be a waste of time. The trucking game is so much about patience and wait. In this case, how much bs can I swallow before it starts to become profitable to stay with Schneider. Honestly, being away from home for over a week and bringing home $400 is a slap in the face. I'm running just as much freight and miles as allowed, just hate being paid horse-###### for doing so. No jab at Schneider, it's just the nature of the beast called "newbie in a truck"

I will say, however, that meeting drivers with 10 and 20 plus years with Schneider that are disgusted is discouraging.......

missing 2 days of pay on this check. With that ######## confusing message they sent out about a "glitch" makes me wonder. The message said this glitch was related to saturday runs? Thats how I understood it. Mine are missing from thursday and friday.
