Muddy, you ain't gonna win with those guys, actually with most guys on this board. Your points are valid but most folks can not discuss this issue rationally. In their defense, however, about 96% of the "question about drug test" posts on this board are written by #######es that I wouldn't let operate my weed eater. These guys shouldn't be taking any drug, legal or illegal.
The problem with discussing the issue is that it is actually 2 issues: 1. What DOT wants, and 2. Real life common sense applications regarding drug use (and remember that alcohol is a drug). DOT says no weed so I don't smoke, it is clear. Also clear is the state-sanctioned alcohol-aided violence and mayhem that will happen this and every other weekend in spectacular numbers.MuddyGuns and crimedoc96 Thank this. -
He's mostly right. In general, people who ask that question are people who would never pass the screening.
The legit questions are usually something like, "I had medical issue X, Doctor prescribed drug Y, I stopped taking it Z months ago, will that be a problem?"
When the question is asked with the appropriate amount if context, there is no suspicion involved.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
JB put it a bit more eloquently than I have. He's right... it's in the context. His example of a legit question is in fact as he stated. Folks asking it the other way around... "what kind of drug screening is a company using" generally have a reason to worry.joseph1135 Thanks this.

The other problem is everyone says it was just a little Pot but no one ever admits to Meth, Crack, Heroin, Oxy, etc. Same goes for DUI it's always just a couple of beers never a liter of Tequila, LOL

The biggest thing is a lot of these guys are using trucking as a last resort. They've screwed everything else up and this is kind of the end of the road. Then they think "I quit drugs last week, I'll get hired somewhere". This isn't the trucking industry of old. And they are going to learn that. Everything you do or did is scrutinized. You did drugs, they'll find out. DUI? A click of the mouse. Your arrest records? Right at their fingertips. Accountability is now king. DAC/ISIS, CSA and the CDL have all but done away with the outlaws of the past. Time to grow up kids, or trucking isn't in your future either.
Ducttape Thanks this. -
Absolutely and the answer to most peoples question about if they can drive a truck or not is here http://www.tsa.gov/stakeholders/frequently-asked-questions-0#disqualification if you answer yes or don't know the answer find out first. And the other thing that gets people dismissed at orientation is not putting down everything they were arrested for whether it was dismissed, dropped or deferred.............arrested means, booked, thus finger printed, thus in the system, so put it down.

Well let's all bow down and kiss your feet you do know that weed is not illegal in at least two states in the United States and it is not illegal in these two states to smoke weed so if someone is not breaking the law and smoking weed in their life and decide to stop smoking weed and go into trucking they should not just because they chose to smoke before you make it out like the guy can't drive and not smoke it's a choice you choose to or you choose not to simple as that he never said he was going to roll down the highway twisting blunt he said six months ago he got high I think you're very self righteous and full of yourself
