So I have read lots of posts about what a student needs to bring for training and I have a pretty good idea. But one thing that posters disagree about is whether or not the student needs a brief case with map book and truck stop guide. Some say bring it, while others say your trainer will have that and you don't need to duplicate. So I am asking those with Prime experience, is that something a student will need? I already have my CDL permit so I just need to train for the driving test. I have the books and a brief case, but that would count as my carry on for the bus. If I don't need to bring them, I can bring my CPAP as a carry on and make room in my suitcase for other things. So, guy and gals, do I need a briefcase and travel guide books for training? Thanks!

You don't need maps or guide, your trainer will have all that, Once you get into your own truck then you will need it, but not while training. save the space.Musicmaker60, DLC, gpsman and 1 other person Thank this.

License,SS Card, Long Form Physical (I believe they send you to take another one anyway when you go to take drug screen), previous employment names addresses phone numbers. Some cash for meals and entertainment while at hotel for orientation. As far as maps and things of that nature your trainer will have all that stuff already. Once you get into your own truck ask for a load thru the house to pick up your things. No sense carry all that on a bus with you. I drove there myself from NC to Springfield, MO they have a large secured parking lot for the drivers cars. You going company or lease purchase?

Company. The bus trip is all day but it is paid for by Prime. If I drive I'd probably have to pay for my gas; plus, what would I do with my car after getting my truck? I don't mind the bus trip and I think it would work out to be easier. I just have to organize my luggage properly. One more question - I have a nice blue parrot blue tooth. I was planning to bring it in case I needed to make or answer any calls while driving, but I'm not even sure if they are allowed for students. Also I don't want it to grow legs and wander off. Any suggestions about that?

As far as your car at Prime they have a large secure parking lot for drivers who drove there and leave their cars at terminal. Bring your bluetooth device, company may say one thing but your trainer may not care if you use it or not. Better to have it than not I'm not sure what policy is now I left Prime in 1999. I did 3 of their lease purchases while there was fairly successful leasing their trucks. Primes a good company some may disagree but my experience was good for almost 9 years. Family situation required me to get off the road for a bit otherwise I would more than likely still be there. Good luck to you.Musicmaker60 Thanks this.
