It's a pretty lengthy and thorough process to even get set up for orientation, but I appreciate that. I don't want to work for a company that just says "Come on in!" I take pride in the work that I do and it's nice to see a company that only accepts like-minded individuals.

n3ss,
Yes, you can get single room if you pay for it. Couple guys I was in class with did. Not sure $, but might have been $50/night. -
$50.00 a night? So what would compare this facility to? Motel 6, Days Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crown Plaza, Sheraton, or Hilton?
OK so I know I'm stretching it with the last 3 but what they hey?
-
Probably Motel 6 LOL, I think the underling reason they charge so much is that they try and keep the single rooms for Employee's ie Company drivers and Lease Operators, as rooms are limited. So they are trying to take care of the people are already hired on, not trainee's. Plus don't forget that in comes with 3 free meals for Students. Company drivers and L/O have to pay for meals unless they are their for training or can con their FM out of meal cards.

Carlton-Ritz... no doubt about.JimmyBones Thanks this.

I did it, and it was 20-25 a night extra. I'm a light sleeper so it was well worth it to not be up all night listening to someone else's snoring, etc...

In my orientation class there was only 2 Flatbed instructors available but there also aren't many people interested in going Flatbed so just make sure you put flatbed down on anything that gives you a choice. The good news is if you do get a Flatbed PSD instructor and aren't a twit they'll hook you up with a Flatbedder for TNT.n3ss Thanks this.

What is PSD and TNT? My recruiter didn't tell me about anything about that. Just that if I went flatbed I'd need to run 15k miles with a trainer for load securement and if I went reefer I'd get a truck after 3 days of oriantation. I have experience running reefer (6month lease with TransAM) that's why I want to do flatbed.skellr Thanks this.

Sorry, didn't know you had a CDL and experience. PSD is Prime Student Driver and TNT is Trainer and Trainee and it looks like that's what you'll be doing (TNT).Zach.S Thanks this. -
Its OK, I'm just still trying to figure stuff out before I hop on a bus in a few days. I think prime is a good company.... But I really don't want to get screwed by another company.Ducttape Thanks this.
