Makes sense really. You're not a Motor Carrier, it's a privately owned vehicle carrying the property of its owner. Though I'm sure HOS is still applicable...

It's still a commercial vehicle, === log book and HOS compliance.

You go through just like every body else.

The only time I ever had a problem was in South Dakota, got stopped at a scale and the guy asks for a BOL, I told him I didn't need one as we were a private carrier. He says, "Well, how do I know this is your equipment?" I said "Because all of the roadcases have BLACKHAWK painted on them and it was their truck." He stood there with a puzzled look, I got in the truck and left.

Sho-Tyme----that had to be one of those brainiacs a Tilford Gulch--watched them put a Buster Brown---TEAM--out of service for HOS?
