    Where did I ever give you, or anyone for that matter, the impression that I don't know, that a driver in business for him/herself has to "work" for their loads? Maybe you should reread my post, that is exactly the point I am driving across to everyone. TO BE IN CONTROL OF WHERE YOU GET YOUR LOADS. Please tell me "when" you would start building relationships with your dispatcher, in a "direct company dispatch lease"? Also, explain to me and everyone else, how do you negotiate with this same dispatcher, in regards to freight? I have already mentioned that a L/P driver can except what load he/she takes but, how many choices do they have, and how many times can they turn down freight, really? Sure, no force dispatch,,,got it. I would much rather be in 100% control of where, when, how I get my freight.

    Again,,,if you are leased to a company, where you have to rely on a dispatcher for your freight, and can not get the freight anywhere else, and your happy with said company....FANTASTIC! I also mentioned that in my post. Integrity with the company you are leased to, as a L/P driver can make the lease a better deal, in a direct company dispatch lease.

    I agree with this statement 100% ....i make it a point to fix issues that our dispatch may be having when i hit the yard of course in return i get out of making pia deliveries and usually get kept moving and make hello good money...this week should net 5k after fuel.
    Is eye opening to listen to how the office talks about people that are allways having issues try to be that priblem solver not a probem
    I dont agree with kr all the time but on treating your carrier like a customer that makes sence and like last pist said especially if on a % all loads are a negotiation make sure it works for u or dont do it

    I agree that we should all work to be problem solvers, not problems. Sounds like a great week for you BigBad7, sorry I couldn't come aboard and buy your truck.

    Are you saying that in a "direct company dispatch lease" if your on % you can negotiate with the dispatcher on cost to move the load? I have never heard of that and most lease's pay in Mileage and there would be no negotiation there. I want to be clear hear,,,I am referring to L/P not those that have their own truck and are leased on to a company.

    Heck, maybe I will learn something I did not know, or realize today....I'm game

    You assume the dispatcher knows the difference most times lp and oo are coded the same in computers and everything is allways open for negotiating not allways about money per sae .....maybe its dropping early or setting me up on the next load and sometimes its xtra money etc ..you can allways hold firm on a rate you want and they can see if cistomer will pay ....i learned this well at panther if it really needs to move they will pay

    Of course the trick is also to not be short sighted its truckinh stuff does happen ...had a cust screw up pretty bad cancelled load after i sat for24 dispatch gave me the tonu charge then asked how much to make it right....i played nice just asked for the high dollar load i wanted that week ...i just want to be the one he wants to take care of not the one he dreads dealing with

    I did not know that about L/P or O/O being the same in dispatcher screen. As far as negotiating with dispatch in regards to time, particular load, trailer and what not, know about that but, just never heard you could negotiate rate, at all. Good to know. Me being me, I would probably try without knowing, I am a firm believer in "you don't know, what you don't know,,until you find out" kind of guy.

    Amen on being the one they take care of, not the one they dread.... I know that's right.

    there must be a credit check because it says minimum credit score required........how do they get the score without a credit check??????
