I've been struggling with driving for the past 3 months,i started otr with the parent company of the training school i went to and then i was hired by another company to try out on flatbeds. I thought i was doing alright, but i was messing up on just a few procedures. The trainer told me that i wasn't catching on that good and after a month of driving they told me that would have to let me go,because they didn't see that i was cut out for it. Now i'am getting ready to go out with another company and i'am really not sure what to expect. I'am not sure how to take the ridicule that i'am getting. The way they let me go left a big blank, and i'am really needing some good advice. If anybody knows whats happening here let me know. Thank you for your help.

Quietone, do you have your CDL ? Do you like driving over the road ?
So that more qualified drivers can answer, what are they saying you are missing out on --or skills they are claiming you are having trouble grasping ?
My opinion for what its worth -if you like driving over the road -you got it licked.
What ever you are missing will come to you --keep trying.
I dont want any of the drivers on here to take this wrong, but the truth is just keep saying to yourself "its just driving a truck from point (A) to point (B) !

    Truckergirl0720 and EV87 Thank this.

Well with your ID I'd say you are shy, I'm not sure but I'd say screw those that have talked crap in the past, What part of the country are you in? you need to be thinking for yourself in this trucking business, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE Is going to get out of their truck and hold your hand while you back into a dock, or secure a FB load, NO ONE now they may help you, If they see that you may be having troubles, But once you are out of the trainers truck you are pretty much on your own for the general operations process, There isn't anyone that will do what you need them to, or that you can rely on. good luck!

I'm a new driver to dude some drivers are flat out ######## and on the other hand some people just are not cut out to drive. At the end of day it's really up to you, what do you want to. Do you want to drive or do you want to let these guys opinion of you bring it down. Over the road sucks sometimes, it takes a certain person to really excel at over the road. With three months I'm sure you could find yourself a local gig and it might be a little easier on you going home every day. Maybe try one of the construction orientated driving jobs such as cement truck driver or dump truck driver. Just my two cents keep your head up!

Wow 3 jobs in 3 months. The third company is actually giving you a shot?. Learn to be still I don't even see how you have made it out of training before you shoot to another company. True fact is some people aren't cut out for this gig,and if you continue to make the same mistakes over and over without any progression. Of course they are going to let you go.
