So a little question I have about the pay at Schneider. For me that is who I have chosen to get into trucking with. I know that some will try to steer me away but just go with me on this because it is my life and my choice. So when I get out of the service and start getting my retirement check of about $3000 a month so I will be one step ahead of others just getting into the business. Meaning I won't struggle as bad as most will. Also I will be getting about $1173 a month in the military apprenticeship program, so now two steps ahead of most. The question I have is how much can I expect to make my first year working there. I am not stupid, I understand every pay check is different depending on the miles driven but realistically what can I expect to make if I am working a dedicated route of a intermodal route. Those are the two options that appeal most to my family and I. Just asking for a little insight and what I might be able to expect.
Thanks for your time
What is the deal with Schneider pay when you get into trucking?

Not sure about intermodal or dedicated but my friend made just under $50k his first year at SNI but it was 6 months van and 6 months tanker. Van was lower 48 and tanker was southeast regional (home every weekend).

Have you considered working for a military support contractor? You'd make twice the money and work half as hard. My oldest brother retires this year with his 2nd pension. If I knew about that stuff when I got out I sure would of went that route. His son got out a few years ago and is working for CECOM. He does very little and makes 6 figures with banker hours.

Lol I know what you mean. You'll enjoy trucking. My oldest brother works for Aviation Logistics Information Systems somewhere around Ft. Lee. Keep that in mind. They take good care of him.
e7shirleym Thanks this.
