Anybody running Linux?

replacing a screen for a netbook. i'm sure it's cheaper to just buy a new netbook. otherwise, i'd replace the 2 laptops with new screens.

my amd runs circles around my sisters faster intc.

as for win7. it's out there. i have ONE copy on a usb stick. used on multiple machines. as long as the updates are kept off. it works fine. otherwise, you end up with reboots and a demand to bu y a license. till it no longer boots up.

i've got win8. but i HATE it.

 

You couldn't find a copy of Windows 7? Tigerdirect.com has Windows 7 home copies for $90.

Playonlinux is an interface for wine. No, I haven't tried it, not untill i find enough time to RTFM for both of them and laundry day keeps coming around.

 

I have stuck with win7, I did beta testing for win8 before it ever released but after a couple weeks I said screw it and went back to my win7, my wife has win8 and hates it but has gotten used to it, there is a program you can get to make it look and feel like native win7 though.

are them $90 win7 copies, upgrades?? or system builders?? cuz i never buy the upgrades.

and it looks like tigerdirect is turning into a full fledged retailer now. appliances, office supplies, etc.

 

I just did a fresh install of a ...ummm... backup copy, yeah, that's it, backup copy... of Win 7 and it updates fine.
