I'm 6'1 and about 260. Don't smoke, drink, or anything. Used to bending and climbing with no problems and very coordinated. Is there a health requirement that would be an issue? Done past DOT physical with no medical problems. Just wondering

If you've passed your DOT physical then it shouldn't be an issue; however, some companies may require some kind of agility test but I'm sure you could pass it, no worries. The DOT physical is usually all that's needed.

There are a few companies, but very few, that require a duck walk under the edge of the trailer and right back out. I read they may have a table set up that's the same height as a trailer then you duck walk under it and back out. That would be a good question to ask before reporting to orientation with any company. I've never been required to do it and don't know the names of any companies that require it.

Some companies are requiring a "work steps" evaluation for agility, I think you might be able to google it and get more information. I am not positive but there might be a link or explanation on superior carriers website.

I read about drivers failing the duck walk @ us express quite often, that bus ride home has got to suck.

on advanced search @ the top left of page type (duck walk).

Im 6'2 290 and just applied with TMC and was passed over. The application specifically asks for weight. I wasnt given a reason for the pass but I wonder if my weight was a factor.

I never heard of the duck walk and I have been through tons of physical's. But your problem is most companies are going to flag you for a sleep study to check for sleep apnea. They usually give you a 3 month physical card but you have to get the sleep study done b4 it expires. They are expensive and some companies I think like prime does a pay roll deduction. Just something to ask the company b4 you show up to orientation.

You can google bmi calculator. I lost 10 to 20 pounds right b4 I had to take my physical and didn't get flagged. All I did was watch what I ate and did some walking. Have to take another physical in March so I better get on a scale and see if I need to get my walk on again.

That could be their issue.Heard tmc is picky.Their equipment proves that.Considering how tall you are 290 doesn't sound bad at all.

Tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine! Move to a real company that wants dependable drivers. Why do human beings allow themselves to be treated like cattle!
