Do some social engineering first. Call up your local terminal and ask who is the TM. Then walk into the terminal like you own the place ask to see the TM.
Ask the nice ladies in the office to speak with the Terminal Manager, They will ask who are you and your business. Politely say you are to see Mr. XXXXXXXX about a interview, They will respond with where he/she is at. I've done this countless times shame on me . But facts are facts when hearing the manager say no/yes hiring. EVERYONE LOVES TO TALK.
Sure you will need to apply online, but after the TM tells you if they are hiring or not.
Not being sarcastic. Research and then walk into ANY brick and mortar place of future employment. Websites are a tool, not 100%

^^^BEST WAY TO GET A JOB^^^ Company I work for doesn't even have a website...600+ trucks.
Sle7en, KW Cajun, Shaggy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Following Monday walked into 12 different trucking companies and had 2 job offers by the end of the day. Local job M-F, OT after 40. Never would have got that offer over the phone or internet.
Nothing sells you like you. If you can speak intelligibly and have a neat appearance, you are heads and tails above 50% of the drivers out there. Get out and shake some hands.Sle7en, Nightwind8830 and Shaggy Thank this. -
Went to Estes today to ask for a job and got rejected for dockworker because I have no experience. Someone please tell me how the hell do other people get hired as a dockworker?....

Then I would try to get to the decision maker like the TM, not just a dispatcher and tell him how much I want to work for Estes and if he will give me a chance, I will deliver all the things you have listed. If he says you have no experience I would tell him I would do whatever it takes to get the job, what can I do to make that happen?
I would find out where the dock workers go for a beer or lunch and get to know a few of them and ask hem how to get in there.
If he still says no, they ONLY hire experienced people I would contact temp agencies in the area, many companies that hire through temp agencies provide forklift training. Maybe you have to work as a picker/packer for a couple of months. Did you ever see the movie "Rudy"? Bottom line if you want something bad enough do not let anyone stand in your way of achieving it. Be polite and considerate with your words but let them know you will succeed at what you are attempting, and they will be better for giving you the opportunity, because they will have a dependable employee with a great attitude. -
Well, there is other good news. There is a trucking school right next to estes. I figure if I show that I'm working towards a CDLA it might help a lot more. The school does froklift and all endorsments. It is a four week course. And Fedex does a drivers apprentice program for new graduates which I will hopefully get a hold of the lady here in sacramento that does so. I'm going to keep begging estes. Ill give them a call tomorrow.

Don't get discouraged. Where is it that you are located at?
-
You have to be a full time employee and be reccomended by the TM to attend the school.
Slots are also merit and seniority based.
The best way to get on there is to be reccomended by a good employee. -
I'm in Sacramento, CA Oi.
