Hello and welcome to the industry! I applied with Millis Transfer, and received a phone call from the recruiter within a few hours. In all my research, hardly anyone had anything negative to say about Millis. That's present AND past employees. Best of luck to you!

Had never heard of Millis until I got on here. I have changed my mind about C.R.England, I was able to find a company closer to home, with better pay and free schooling, it's called Celedon. I am supposed to start my schooling with them on January 27th, and I can't wait. Instead of of their schooling taking 2 weeks to 2 1/2 weeks from 5 0r 6 am until whenever their schooling is 3 to 4 weeks and is straight 8am to 5pm m-f. I think the slower pace is a good thing, at least for me. Anyway, hope I meet you out there! EVERYBODY, DRIVE COOL AND BE SAFE!!!

Ok, it's been some time since I updated, so here it goes.
Started Celadon on the 27th, but checked into hotel on 26th. Nice enough hotel, had room to myself, was there Sunday thru Tuesday night, THEN they opened the NEW building. Checked into dorms on Weds. morning, seems like total chaos, don't expect it to calm down. Went for BMV tests on Weds., passed General Knowledge and Tankers, failed the rest, re-tested on Thursday, passed EVERYTHING INCLUDING ALL ENDORSEMENTS, got the rest of my 40 hours classroom time in on Friday.
Went home for weekend, checked back into dorms on Sunday evening.
It's now Monday morning, I'm supposed to be on the "Range" now, but my name didn't make it to the board yet. They only have 3 trucks and 3 lanes on the range, and for this many people coming through it's not enough for everyone to make it out there. Hopefully I'll get out there tomorrow, I'm in the cafeteria right now studying all my pre-trip.
The school is nice, the dorms are functional. They seem to be having some problems with the water and pipes, but it's to be expected in a brand new facility, I'm sure with time the kinks will get worked out. The shuttles are not available when people need them to go to the stores, at least that's what I'm hearing.
I hear alot of people ######## about alot of stuff, and I think it's kind of funny, we ARE NOT here to be comfortable, we ARE here to learn what we need to in order to get on the road, and if people can't deal with the dorms, how do they expect to be able to handle being in a truck for such long hours. A lot of people are talking about leaving and going to other schools, which is b.s., be patient, bide your time, take it seriously, THEN look at ur options when everything is said and done. I was originally told that after my 6 weeks training I will be teamed with someone for my 240,000 team miles, but there is a program that offers a $4000.00 grant towards the schooling that will cut my miles in half, so I need only to drive team for 120,000 miles before I can go solo. This is a good thing because it seems my "friend-making" skills leave a lot to be desired, so solo is probably best for me. Been here a week, haven't found my "click" yet, don't know anyone, and talk to very few. Spend most of my time alone and studying.
Well, that's it for now, will update later.
P.S. If anyone is up for a new team mate keep me in mind please, I figure I'll be ready for team driving within 2 to 2 1/2 months. I like ALL kinds of music except opera, I love animals, I'm married AND faithful, and I'm dependable and work hard. Oh, and I don't snore!
