I'm always amazed to see the hammies get their undies in a bunch. Like most of us really care to go their precious channels anyway. I particularly liked the post where the hammy freak went on to say how if we talked our trucker talk on their channels no one would like us or talk to us like we are weirdos or something. I wonder if it ever crossed their minds that maybe the rest of the world sees THEM as being the weirdos? Especially given the multitude of posts I see on these radio forums. This is after all the TRUCKERS REPORT forums. NOT the hammy report forums. Seriously people. Get a grip. You're not all that. The rest of the world really doesn't care what you think.

What makes you think anyone here wants your help? All it is is a masked way to put yourself on your soap box and pretend you're better than the rest of us when the truth of the matter is you're not even savvy enough to have your own hammy forum to troll on. I seriously doubt the truckers who are hammies behave the way most of you here do. When someone posts a thread looking for the best 10 meter radio to buy, I seriously doubt they are looking for some freak to preach at them to stay off their precious channels or how they are going to prison for life for owning that radio.

If you were seriously here to help, the fact you are a hammy or the mention of your precious channels wouldn't be in your posts in the first place huh?

If you do not cause interference to anyone, and operate on frequencies where it is legal for you to do so, chances of any ill effects coming your way are next to nil. Ethically, as a ham radio operator, i should say that you shouldn't operate anything outside of FCC regulations, but if your just on the Citizens Bands and your not putting out enough wattage to cause harm to anyone, i say go for it. I routinely put out 75 and 100 watts or more, of course thats on 147 mhz.

I know 13 yr olds that have extra class licences. Just keep your overmodulated hick-a-billy radios and trashy "dave-made" splatter boxes below 28.000 MHz and most likely nobody will bother you, unless you cause interference at home.

Don't assume because we drive a truck we aren't educated enough to know how to apply power to a radio and still have it sound good.
Personally I think someone who sits in front of his radio at home day in and day out with no other human contact other than on a piece of electronic equipment has some serious issues that go beyond any help you're going to get here and that description fits more of you than you might care to admit.
Certainly explains the anti social behavior seen here, huh?

Well I don't know about you, but I have been on the road for the last 19 years. I started playing with CB radios in 1977, back when cb was a lot more civilized, unlike the ####### that are on there now. I actually finally got my ham license because of that. If you yell at me on 19, I probably wont bother answering, if I even have it on.

    CobraDane Thanks this.

I'm not sure which amazes me more... the fact that you're still trolling this thread, or the fact that others are taking the bait.

Five minutes of listening on channel 19 will prove your statement to be false.

I actually did some rag chewing on a net coming through southern Alabama once. The net was ran by a 10 YEAR OLD GIRL! She had been licensed for a year and had been the net controller for 4 months.

I'm looking to use a 10meter as well. Ive been told that their is no way the FCC can track you rolling in your rig using it as a CB even if you skip to the SSB or ham said by mistake. but i'd get my FCC Lic. as well just to be safe cause you can go skip and get out to 1k plus miles sometimes i'd sit around at a truck stop or rolling and try this. anyways. just my 2cent. i have my information from what i think is a very repeatable company that i have bought products from before. what brand 10meter should i get?
